Don't shoot the messenger - I'm no meteorologist but this looks daunting and rather unambiguous as of 640 AM EDT.

 

Very surprised they didn't send them out as early as possible today.

Reply to my own post:  futurecast radar shows it breaking up around noon and missing Augusta.  That's hell in a cell - is it possible?

Really looking forward to what we might be able to expect heading into the weekend. Big JT man so hoping that he does the business but lots of names in there that would be worthy winners.

 

The beer is in the fridge, the pizza ordered and I can get some golf in this afternoon here in Scotland where it is 35F and windy but I do not care.

I have some money on JT myself. I wouldn't mind seeing him, Spieth and Rose slug it out on Sunday. 

 

Also, I know this has been said already but being able to watch every shot hit by every player on the Masters website is quite, quite brilliant.

Every last hole location is 6 yds or less from the edge of a green.  I'm sorry but that is tricked-up especially when it involves the entire course.  It's a tacit admission that playing hide and seek on the greens is one of few - or the only - means of combating the players' length.

 

How can player skill with spin, imagination, shot shape be involved when they must, out of necessity, focus on edging up onto a shelf or onto a target little bigger than the floor of a room?

I'm warming up quickly to Will Z whose media game is as sharp as his golf.  He acknowledges he's using a few shopworn phrases but insists they have meaning in the context of a tournament.

 

One of my legs wouldn't fit in the waist of his trousers. 🙄  He's a pipe cleaner with ht/wt listed at 6-2 165.  I reckon he's including the 5 lbs his clothes and shoes weigh - maybe even a golf club in hand!

 

His cocktail-themed shirt yesterday was ace.  And one of the most frequently searched terms on Google & Twitter.  He might have stopped to tuck it in towards the end of the day though.

I hovered my mouse over Will Z many times in my pool, really great kid, but ultimately did not pick. I figured the tournament would be too much for him. I was wrong, and I hope I am wrong through Sunday evening.

I picked him in my pool, and then for the next group decided to hedge that selection with someone safer, a guy who might not contend but a good bet to make the cut. So I picked Wiesberger for that group, and it's worked out pretty well.

This kid seems very likable.

I didn’t really know much about him before this week to be honest, but the wedge thing clinches it. Love that type of humor.
