I lived in Japan for 27+ years. I knew Americans, Brits and Aussies who couldn't get on a bus in Japan after 20 years of living there. So, let's not get too judgmental.   Japanese are taught

Second time I lived here I had a regular foursome with three Japanese men.  Our common language was simple politeness in each others language and the common golf terms - 'good shot', etc.  Every now a

Here's just a couple other comments about Japan and golf and culture stuff. I trust the others here in Japan or who have spent time will validate this.   1. Matsuyama's caddie retrieved the

Drones are cool and all, but they make a sound that reverberates the wrong way with me, like nails on a chalkboard. I can only imagine what some of the players trying to play are hearing.... if it effects them the same, while playing.

And I've been hearing lot of them on the broadcast/streams.

I think your ears are overly sensitive. I don't hear them at all and I'm watching/listening in 5.1 sound. Heck, I was hearing birds over my left shoulder and a fire truck over my right earlier. Didn't hear the drones though.

That being said the guy's a hell of a player and could win this thing.  He took Koepka to the wire at the US Open.

Exactly at Erin Hills. In one of his two tour wins he beat DJ on a course he had allegedly no business winning on as claimed by some due to it's length.

So many people here like to discount touring pros that win events that aren't top rated players and continually diminish their accomplishments.

Lets take Cameron Champ as another example. If Champ would somehow win the Masters this weekend that would give him 3 wins in 3+ years on tour with a major. However many here would continually go out of their way and criticize him, claim he is no good, got lucky etc,

I do see your point. But you know the whole business of diminishing the accomplishments of people more successful than you is exactly why DARPA started the Internet, right?

Reply to my own post:  futurecast radar shows it breaking up around noon and missing Augusta.  That's hell in a cell - is it possible?

Really looking forward to what we might be able to expect heading into the weekend. Big JT man so hoping that he does the business but lots of names in there that would be worthy winners.

The beer is in the fridge, the pizza ordered and I can get some golf in this afternoon here in Scotland where it is 35F and windy but I do not care.

I have some money on JT myself. I wouldn't mind seeing him, Spieth and Rose slug it out on Sunday.

Also, I know this has been said already but being able to watch every shot hit by every player on the Masters website is quite, quite brilliant.

Every last hole location is 6 yds or less from the edge of a green.  I'm sorry but that is tricked-up especially when it involves the entire course.  It's a tacit admission that playing hide and seek on the greens is one of few - or the only - means of combating the players' length.

How can player skill with spin, imagination, shot shape be involved when they must, out of necessity, focus on edging up onto a shelf or onto a target little bigger than the floor of a room?

Just seen Zalatoris WITB cool that he references the fact he looks like happy gilmore's caddy with the stamping he has on his wedge. "Mr Gilmore Im your Caddy"  lol

I'm warming up quickly to Will Z whose media game is as sharp as his golf.  He acknowledges he's using a few shopworn phrases but insists they have meaning in the context of a tournament.

One of my legs wouldn't fit in the waist of his trousers. 🙄  He's a pipe cleaner with ht/wt listed at 6-2 165.  I reckon he's including the 5 lbs his clothes and shoes weigh - maybe even a golf club in hand!

His cocktail-themed shirt yesterday was ace.  And one of the most frequently searched terms on Google & Twitter.  He might have stopped to tuck it in towards the end of the day though.

I hovered my mouse over Will Z many times in my pool, really great kid, but ultimately did not pick. I figured the tournament would be too much for him. I was wrong, and I hope I am wrong through Sunday evening.

I picked him in my pool, and then for the next group decided to hedge that selection with someone safer, a guy who might not contend but a good bet to make the cut. So I picked Wiesberger for that group, and it's worked out pretty well.
