I only remember the movie because Sienna Miller was spectacular!  I cannot recall any "braces" discussion though...

 

I do concur the look on Mr. Lyle is horrendous.

As someone firmly entrenched in middle age, with an expanding waistline (was 31 in college, now 34) but worse of course are the love handles, I get it.    Non-elastic waistbands fall down, or you need to wear the pants up by your belly button - arguably a worse look than Sandy.

 

Plus, after you hit 50, you can wear whatever you want.  No one cares.

I think it's actually a great look if you're wearing a suit and tie, but not in this case.  I also wonder why he doesn't wear and undershirt and simply use the suspenders/braces under his golf shirt.

Since it gets pretty warm down there, how about some suspenders and shorts? Now, that would be something the tourists would never forget!

Having said that, if his suspenders were official Masters merchandise Ridley needs to step in and get some different options!

Explain why braces or suspenders make less sense than wearing a belt. A belt which is synced around your gut and misshaping your adipose tissue or restricting circulation. In fact, suspenders have been proven to increase ground force reaction thus increasing power and club head speed.

 

Suspenders are so scientifically proven superior, I’m surprised the most intelligent player in the history of golf, Bryson Dechambeau (honorary PhD), doesn’t wear them... yet.

Good stuff Hawkeye. Wonder how many of the same people criticizing Sandy have been wearing sweatpants or less at home over the last 14-16 months or so via Zoom/Teams calls for their job. Of course nobody will admit to it.

It’s a fantastic way of syncing your shoulder turn with your hip turn 😉. Added ‘snap’ on the downswing as you unwind.

 

Hoodies and hi-tops give you no such advantage 😳
