Not sure where to post this.

Shopping for an X Tensei Blue 70 to replace my Blue 65 AV.

I see so many different prices on CK and AV Im not sure what is accurate. Assuming AV is lower price but sometimes it is higher priced than CV. Even the pictures seem contradicting at times.

Any insight from Tensei experts?

Tensei CK Pro Blue?  Those are 360 retail for just the shaft itself but you can find private sellers that will give you a small discount.  PM me if you're interested in a referral.

Well thats probably because their is a “pro” ck version which is much more expensive. Also, the tx flex in the av will be higher priced usually as well. All and all, the regular ck and av could probably be had for 50-75 bucks pretty easily i would think. I wouldnt pay any more than that.

Tensei gen 1:

CK (OEM program)

CK Pro (flagship aftermarket)

Tensei gen 2:

AV/AV Raw (non-TX flex is flagship, other flexes are OEM program)

1K Pro (flagship aftermarket)

AV/AV Raw non-TX flexes directly replaced the OEM CK line and the AV Raw TX flexes replaced the CK Pro line.

Thank you

  • 2 weeks later...

I’m kind of an idiot regarding shafts.

I like the weight and feeling of the Project X Rifle 6.0 (+1”) in my X-20 Tour irons and I have a new (to me) G410 hybrid with a Fujikura Pro 2.0 8 stiff shaft that feels much nicer (I believe since it’s a heavier shaft). Around a 105 mph driver swing, and I’m currently hitting a 45g Evenflow Red Stiff in a SIM Max head.

I might get fit, but I only have around $150 to spend on a shaft so I want to be prepared with what items are in my range.

A golfer I trust recommended the Tensei line to me. It’s soooooo confusing to look through the line differences.

Would you guys trust eBay shafts from sellers with 3k+ almost completely positive reviews? How can you tell the difference between the Pro shafts / standard OEM? Are the standard OEMs always the low end knockoffs? Am I even looking at the correct lines for my price range?

The issue with ebay shafts is tipping. Some may be tip trimmed more or less than you need it to be and also overall shaft length can be short or long.

The Tensei AV raw has a silver upper-handle and is the new 2021 model.

The Tensei AV original model has a greyish upper-handle and is the older model.

The Tensei CK Pro is the original premium model and the K in CK will be blue, followed by having "BORON TIP /////" logo by the tip of the shaft and also the carbon weave in the handle section will be all the way under the grip.

The Tensei CK non-pro is the old budget model and has two versions - an old model which has a blue K in CK but does NOT have BORON TIP or carbon wrap under the handle (it stops 4" from the blue band) and also the 'new' CK made-for OEM model which is painted silver below the shaft band.

Basically the good model is the CK Pro, followed by the AV/AV Raw, and then the CK

Thank you so much! Do you view the CK non-pro and new CK made for OEM model as worth spending $$$ on? Honestly I just realized how light my current driver shaft is and I think I need to get into a ~60g shaft ASAP to start getting used to a more correct weight shaft, even if it’s not my forever shaft.

Is there a wide eBay fakes market? I’ll make sure and watch the shaft lengths that I like.

No - go with the AV or AV Raw. The average price on the CK non-pro is like 60$ish but the AV is only $90ish. If you need one I may have one laying around that I can put a taylormade tip on for you, I can get you specs on it if you message me.
