With the soft course conditions and the weather forecast for AM fog and temperatures in the next three days in the 50s and 60s the course is vulnerable. I predict the winning score will be -9 or -10..

On 13, Michelle Wie hit first and put her ball about 15’ from the hole. Paula Creamer hit her shot on the same line. As it was rolling on the green it hit Wie’s ball. The rule is that Creamer plays her next shot from where her ball ended up while Wie ihas to replace her ball where it was originally at rest.  
 

I watched the sequence live and then rematched it several times using the DVR. Despite what Stupples said on the broadcast, it looked to me like the USGA official got it wrong. Creamers ball caromed off Wie’s ball and was redirected closer to the hole.  Wie’s ball was pushed a foot or two towards the left side of the green and was originally further away from the hole than where Creamer’s finished. But after the official made her ruling, Creamer was away which did not seem correct. Wie putted after she did which again seemed wrong as her ball originally was further from the hole.  I don’t understand how this happened.

Sigh. Why did Lydia take over two minutes to hit her 2nd shot on the 13? More importantly, why does the Golf Channel show the entire excruciating process?

She's playing well. I assume that after the cancelation of the CWO she's committed to winning the "other" less important open. Lol.

Another broadcast note: is there a screen or net between the anchor desk and the camera? I’m seeing an odd mesh effect in front of the faces of Lerner and Pressel.

I don't remember it playing that hard in the US Opens.  I don't think it was a birdie hole despite being short but not that hard either.  I mostly recall people in the front bunker rarely had a reasonable putt for the next shot (especially to the front pin if you were trying to stick one close but came up short).

The screen is definitely behind them, but there is something weird going on technically.

The LPGA/USGA needs to address the players taking over 2.5 minutes to hit a shot, its getting out of hand. Ko is getting so bad.

The problem is that their group was not out of position. Warnings are only given when the group falls behind. Are the first groups out setting the snail's pace? If so, why?

Lydia misses a fairway, and the result is a double. Ouch. The course has birdie opportunities, but it'll bite.
