Long Island / bethpage trip help

Going down to Long Island for a long weekend at the end of the month. Looking to play bethpage black at least once and I’m thinking red and blue. How do the other bethpage courses compare conditions wise? Any other courses within 25 miles that are a must play? We will be close to the Eisenhower courses, are those worth playing?

red is the only other course worth playing.  the rest are meh and slow.  eisenhower red is great but you need a leisure pass to have a chance to get tee times.  if youre a single, you have a chance but a 4some, zero chance.  harbor links is fine.  so is middle bay.  ferry point also solid though will set you back $200+.

Agree with this 100%, red can get pretty backed up on a weekend too. Ferry point is great but again, expensive. Depending on where you're coming in from you could look at Pound Ridge (headed north).

Eisenhower Red is a decent course. White is next and drops off in quality from the red a decent amount. Stay away from the blue unless you want to play a shorter course

Red at BP is solid.  Hosting a college event this weekend.  Farther out I like Sag Harbor.

Farther than 25 miles but nice is Willow Creek and Montauk Downs.  FYI, Montauk Downs is connected to Bethpage.

As a long time Long Island resident, I agree that both Willow Creek and Montauk Downs are really nice golf courses. But be aware that Willow Creek is 45-60 minutes away from Bethpage, and Montauk Downs is at least a 2 hour drive. Reservations at Montauk Downs are part of the NY State reservation system, just like Bethpage, so reservations are difficult to get for a non-resident. Your best hope is to get a last minute cancellation.

Eisenhower Blue greens are in bad shape ATM.

 

Other than Bethpage, I'd recommend Harbor Point or Wind Watch for very good public courses. Both are $100+ to play but much easier to get into compare to Bethpage. Eisenhower Red falls behind these 2. Don't even look at Blue right now. Greens are in very rough shape.

It's Ferry Point Trump located hard by the Whitestone Bridge . It connects the Bronx and Queens. You would cross it on your way to the airports from Westchester and the Bronx
