Yup, it should be fun tomorrow. Heck, it better be fun. I'd say it's a five player race. Seven shots back is a big hill to climb. 

 

Sei Young shot four rounds at -31 to win Thornberry. Including the final round of the ANA, Lydia has shot 31 under for her last four rounds.

When Lydia is in the zone I believe she perceives the game in a way that is barely imaginable to many of us. She is just playing. There are no doubts or fears. Her last four rounds of competitive golf...I mean, what is that?!!

 

I think Lydia will win tomorrow. But you never know!

Leona has two top 10s in 31 starts. She seems to be trending upwards, but her final round at the Kia three weeks ago dragged her down the leaderboard. Curious to see if she posts another solid round today.

Also here, 475 can be 505 depending on the wind direction.  Almost everyone is hitting 300 down wind lol.  If you played all 4 rounds at the ANA and here, you are getting a bonus 10 yrds added to your driving distance avg over a normal courses lol

Yes, but the fairway is only like 10 yards wide and is tree lined and...and there are snakes and gators and...and all the wind funnels into that one hole and...  😉

The wind starts coming up pretty decently around noon and goes through the afternoon with shower potentially throughout afternoon.  Will probably make hitting green touch harder and throw off players putting if the greens pick up moisture.  Don't think it means much for the leaders but probably won't be as easy to get that really low score today for the chasers, well actually early tee time have conditions to light it up but they're too far back for it to matter what they do.

Is it a surprise, though? They shortened the course for the 3rd round, including two very reachable par 5s, and cut half the field that contributed to the higher scores in the first two rounds.

Round 1                                  4.840                              509 yards

Round 2                                  4.497                              502 yards

Round 3                                  4.197                               446 yards

Lydia has been putting in the hours ... in the gym, on the course, etc. and IMHO I would add that the biggest improvement in her play and work with Sean Foley has come from the mental aspects of it.  Foley's methods seem to really resonate with Lydia and she is responding to it so far.   

 

So a few years back, Lydia went on a journey to see if she could get stronger and faster so that she could get more yards off the tee and she seems to have found it ... at least so far this season.

The course plays 6,374 yards today, par 5 #7 is no longer 446 yards like yesterday but 521 yards

 

Par 5 #1 plays 534 yards, similar to Round 2; Par 5 #14 and #17 are 484 and 474, similar to yesterday.

Jenny with the big charge today. Looks like ideal scoring conditions again for the final round shootout. 

 

Alison with a 65. Might be good enough to get her into next week's tournament. 

 

A Lim five under through seven. Leaders have to get off to a fast start.

Lydia got off to a slow start yesterday. After an opening birdie she had pars until the 7th. She seems to love the back nine.
