No equipment "needed", but want to make a purchase anyway....what should I buy

I like the custom head cover route.  I did this with picking up 4 Dormie covers and had my name embroidered on them.  Makes me keep them longer as it would be a harder sell...  But I really like them.  Second would be shoes and then gloves (if you wear) as they can make or break a round IMO.

I was looking at the players 4 plus.  How do u like it? What color did u buy?

I haven't got it in hand yet. I ordered it from our club's proshop and will be picking it up when we open next week.

I got the black with the red accents.

If you don't need any clubs get a bag and shoes. Do you have a skinny bag? Need a push cart? Tour bag splurge?

I was thinking of a push cart but i just joined a league and everyone rides (which i hate)........id love a tour bag but afraid i would look like rodney dangerfield out there.....an average amateur player with a beautiful tour bag.....not sure i could live that down when the guys give me grief 🙂

Buy yourself a pair of Gfore Gallivanter shoes.  Buy the seasonal edition on sale with 10% off for being new customer and you will have half your money left for something else.  I absolutely love mine and am glad I trusted my girlfriend when she told me I needed a pair!  They look great and feel even better.  The leather wipes clean after a soggy round and traction is supurb.

do you have a pair? hey look very old school with modern tech......if you have them, how do you like them?

They are awesome.  I bought three pair.  The fit and finish are fantastic.  I have these and the white version in the Packard and the Navy blue Flint ones and they are fantastic in my opinion.

Get a bag...  specifically a Ping Pioneer cart bag.  This is by far the best bag I have ever owned from a setup perspective.  All of the pocket locations and the amount of pockets is just perfect.  I also really like the fact it has a magnetic drop-down ball and range-finder pockets along with a cooler pocket. I tried some other bags in the past before landing on this one.

I'll go off the board:  GPS.  Maybe you already have one.  I'm using one for the first time and I find it helps, mostly with fine tuning just how far I'm hitting various clubs.  Might actually save a stroke or two.

Plan B would be really good rain gear.

My problem is LOFT -- Lack of friggin' talent

That bag looks sweet.  I'm thinking about updating my old nike hybrid style stand bag but always scared cart bags are too big and bulky.  Is that a dumb reason/thinking to have?  All those pockets and putter well seem great.  For some reason its hard for me to ditch a stand on a bag!  I've had stand bags since my junior days. Old habits are hard to break.

I don't think it's that much bulkier than a stand bag.  It does take a little time getting used to at the range and things w/o having legs so, you need to lean it up against something so it doesn't fall over or lay it down.  All of the ranges I visit have stands for the bags so, I am fine with it.  That said, it is also worth noting I have a sunday bag as well I use to take to the chipping/putting areas when I want to.

if you do not ever walk, why would you need a stand bag?

i walk from time tot time, so i still need a stand bag but im wonder why i just dont use a cart each time i walk instead of carrying all that weight

looking for gear, thanks though

It's in the WRX bylaws....   it is *always* the club's fault.

I vote for the new bag, and depending on whether you walk, use a pushcart, or ride, I say go big.  Maybe not size, but with the figurative bells and whistles.

I really like the idea of the leather grips mentioned by OsnolaKinard.  If you play in higher humidity, or in damp conditions, they are simply awesome.
