Hybrid shaft into tech/distance iron - BBTG and more..?

I’m considering replacing my highest lofted hybrid with a similarly lofted tech assisted long iron such as ZX5 or ZX Utility.  If I embark on this journey I will consider installing one of my AD-DI 95 hybrid shafts.

 

I know a reamer would likely be required for the hosel which is pretty straightforward.

 

Are there general trends in BBTG between the two types of clubs?  If not, does anyone know the specifics between the Titleist hybrid Surefit and the Srixon hosels?

 

The hybrid head weight is 252g including installed weight and some lead tape.  Per the data in the Japanese Srixon brochure, overall weight for the ZX5 5i at 38” with Modus 105-S and a 50g grip is 411g and the ZX-U 4i at 38.75” with NS 950GH (96g) and a 50g grip is 398g.  I’m not super sensitive to swingweight (and not opposed to lead tape...) but would want it to be within reason of my mid and short irons (e.g., ~D0 to D2).

 

Any general thoughts on the AD-DI 95 vs my standard Modus 105 or perhaps a lighter steel shaft such as NS 950?  Primary reason for this journey is to tighten azimuth dispersion whilst preserving similar launch/spin/height parameters.
 

Any other considerations?

the Hybrid specific shaft and those driving irons should all be .370, so should be interchangable...as most utility irons I've seen, so you can put any graphite Hybrid shaft in them.

 

I would think the tip prep amount from a Titleist adapter into the Srixon head would be similar and not change overall length by much. you'de just have to watch the weight of the shaft being a little lighter...may cause a little bit lighter SW once installed over a steel shaft at same length

Great topic, to add a question, would you have to tip the graphite shaft like if it was going in a wood/hybrid?

I’d guess the answer is yes.  I have 3 AD-DI hybrid shafts - two I bought used for a song and one I bought new.  I assume the two used ones were tipped 1/2” and I asked for the new one to be tipped 1” per the chart below.  Guess I need to be concerned about the relative bore depths as well to ensure adequate parallel remains above the hosel for strength...
