Adam Scott Masters 2021 WITB

I just saw this witb video on Adam Scott's setup at the 2021 Masters.  Adam really goes in-depth about his clubs and I thought it was worthy to share!

Absolutely love this.  Interesting that he did end up switching to the 620 blades, so it makes sense that he mentioned that he was talking to Titleist about it.  Given that this interview was right after Honda, it happened fairly quickly.  

 

The only thing missing was his current 3-wood shaft, as I recall him hitting less than driver off of 13 tee each day.  The club he was hitting had the AD-DI shaft in it for sure, so I was guessing that he put it in 3w also.

Also, loved when he was looking at one of the irons and said it is "starting to wear a bit" and you could see a ball sized brown spot right in the middle of the club face.   Just a bit of wear.🤣

haa. I looked at my wedges yesterday. A completely diagonal line from low heel to high toe. Maybe this Adam fellow is a better ball striker than I.

Right! Being a wrx'er, I feel like I would be searching for a new set immediately.

Yes, those were my two thoughts -- 1) he calls that a "bit" of wear, and 2) not many WRX'ers (including myself) ever even get to that level of wear on a set. 😃

Agreed, it was probably the 15* like he mentioned a "stronger" 3W. I think his normal 16.5 4W has the OG ROMBAX P95X in it.

He hit the 7 wood on 13 this week.  His 3 wood still has the Rombax P95 in it.

Good stuff. Was surprised to see Ben Clymer (of Hodinkee) doing this WITB. A little bummed they didn't talk watches at the end!! Was hoping Ben would chime in about the beautiful snowflake GMT Adam has on.

This is part of a new podcast called "Fairgame" Ben is co-hosting with Adam.  The first 5 episodes were Masters focused but moving forward will be covering a range of topics, wouldn't be surprised to hear them talk watches.  Also if you didn't know, Adam appeared on Hodinkee radio in 2018 with Ben talking watches.

That's what I thought, as he has tended not to mess too much with his 3 wood shaft.  Pretty wild to think of hitting a 5/7 wood off of that tee...

I think he’s distanced himself a touch from Hodinkee (they’ve got a new CEO) and that gives him time for ventures like this, it looks really good so that’s pretty cool to see.

That was great!  I've been a big Adam Scott fan for as long as he's been playing on tour.  I've always loved his demeanor, his swing, his respect for the game, his humility and his attitude - whether he's playing poorly, or playing well.

Clymer is such a boring interviewer, even on his watch-related videos.  He has zero personality - his "celebrity' is mystifying.

 

Would have been interesting to see the WITB and range video with Adam's coach with a host/interviewer who had some knowledge/enthusiasm for golf.

Defintley made me think about changing to the VENTUS in my 3 wood.  It's too bad there isn't any 90g+ options available.  I think the Blue or Red would be perfect for me!

there are some super top secret special order tour only weights/flexes available 🙂
