I can’t imagine it would. Doesn’t seem to take well to stainless. Most seem to fade and turn a bit brownish over time.

Blue Oil over carbon is miles better.

Mine didn't even last 2 months.  Made me an instant fan.  That was the only and last Byron for me.

This may have arrived today…

Just ordered a putter from Kari, for what he charges and what I asked for with any other putter maker even Byron cause we're comparing the two I probably would have paid an extra 200 to 300. Let's see

I think it all comes down to preference. I prefer Lajosi's finish work and milling vs Bryon. I've owned both. Sold the Byron and had a custom sensor built for me. Gamer for the past year +

I'm in Canada so do I go with my neighbor to the south or cousin countrymen?

But in reality I'm really leaning on going with Kari just based on his work and the exchange rate is basically on part. I've also heard nothing but quality things from Kari and what I want done next Kari can do but Byron can't. I guess that's the good thing about where we are at, basically endless options for putter sources.

Yeah Kari is going to get a message from me this week, been loving his work recently and his prices with the exchange rate are very reasonable. I may ask him to mill me 2 heads if the price is good.

I just texted Byron and he's going to pull one of these head covers for me. Will send the funds and game this cover when I get it.

I have putters from both and like the finish on the Byron over Kari.  I am trying to move a Kari as we speak, as Sensor and have a Mallet I will probably also move.  I have skim milling on my putters and love the feel when you hit that sweet spot.  I am also going to throw in LaMont Mann from MannKrafted.  His DH89 is spot on to your traditional 009 Style putter and he does a Welded Neck.   KBS Tour Putter Shaft is the way to go.   Kari missed a couple color requests when I received my putter, but it still came out nice...Also, spend the dough, get a Piretti 801r Skim Mill SS and get it tourched.

Ordered a Byron 16 weeks ago and still have not received it despite being quoted 2 months. All in house finishes etc. (for some reason did get the excuse the putter was waiting to be sent off for finishing in a batch - so not sure the order is even put in with Byron honestly) Communication has been brutal. I chose to ignore other threads about poor communication and other issues because of my past personal experiences (this will be my 4th Byron).

This was my biggest thing as well. Just got my Byron in yesterday. The putter is amazing and I wouldn’t mind that it took 6 months to make. Just ell me it’s going to be 6 months. Don’t tell me it could be less than 2. Then tell me you’re working on it now in March when I didn’t get it till June. I wouldn’t have been upset if I was quoted a realistic timeline.

What are the specs of the Byron you recently received ? If it has a welded neck or finish other than media blast, brushed , or polished I believe Byron sends the putter outside of his shop.

Long neck, 360 gram head, oil can finish. I’m pretty sure he welds his own necks but I knew the finish was outsourced before I ordered. It’s just frustrating that I was told a batch of heads were going out for oil can in late December and I could have my putter before the end of February and didn’t get it until Late June. Like I was saying, if it’s going to take 5 months that’s cool, just don’t overpromise. That was my only frustration with the whole process

I do not believe Byron does welding. My guess is that the delay is mostly due to sending the head and neck to the weld shop, probably 2 months.. Also, the Oil Can finish shop was likely 2 months including the back and forth shipping.

I have had both, honestly I prefer Lajosi. I ordered one on a clearance sale from the site, that is a GSS Sensor with Timascus disc, amazing. So I bought an LP421 here and then custom ordered a DD201 with Beach Slot and weights. The custom took 8+ weeks. He emailed a couple times to chat about it, and I was patient. His last email was to confirm shaft, length and such. Also he included some special additions in the pouch for me for waiting (divot, marker). Absolute pleasure to work with and I cant recommend him enough.
