Odyssey Rahm putter limited release.

Tried it today at PGA SS. Nice putter, just too soft for me. I was leaving everything short. I like the micro hinge insert better.

For those that may be interested…

 

30g bullet weight in the 34” as I pulled the grip today and shortened mine to 33.5” and then put a SS Traxion Tour 2.0 on it.

 

No epoxy as this is the newer style bullet weight with a couple of thin gaskets so the weight just pops out if you grab it with some pliers and rotate to pull it out.

I personally like the micro-hinge star and don't care for the whitehot insert. But I do think it's pretty cool that people asked for a WH 2-ball 10 and they did bring one to market.

I wonder if the head weight on this putter is heavier. I held one and putted with one yesterday and it felt significantly heavier than the stock Ten.

it is the white hot insert.. As far as I know, there is only one white hot insert.

You can always do a google image search but the PGATSS pulled it off their site.

 

I believe QDU said June 1(?) earlier in the thread.

 

This is actually the 2nd time my local store did this. They did it a few weeks ago with the new Cobra putters with the Sik face - in fact, they even sold a few of those.

Agreed. It certainly appears to be the exact same face as on the current White Hot OG line.

Picked one up yesterday at Roger Dunn's and used it today. Hate the pistol grip. Wish they would have just used the same grip they have on the regular Ten 2 Ball. Had to get it changed out after the round. Other than the aforementioned grip, I love this putter. Wasn't sure about the candy apple red shaft but it grew on me during the round. Best thing about it is the insert. Feels so much better than the microhenge.  Looking forward to using it again tomorrow.

I got to test this out at edwin watts today;  I think it feels better than the micro hinge version.

The grip is too small.  I like the grip on the micro hinge version better but the insert on this limited version feels much better to me

I have seen these in Golf Galaxy as well but still nothing on either the Odyssey website or the Callaway website.  Is this thing happening or what Callaway?

For those that have not noticed this yet....

 

The "LIMITED RUN WITH WHITE HOT INSERT" on the bottom is just a sticker over the stock "MICROHINGE INSERT" that is actually printed on the head.  So I would assume they are just using the retail heads and replacing the Microhinge Insert with the White Hot insert.

 

I used mine for a couple of rounds this weekend and noticed that the sticker was starting to come off so I just peeled it off.  Not the highest of finishes on a putter, but beggars can't be choosers as I really enjoyed putting with the 2Ball Ten with the White Hot insert and really don't care what the bottom looks like.

 

The Tour line would be a nice option, but will run with this one as-is and see if they include other 2Ball Ten head options with the White Hot insert in the future.

I finally couldn't stand it and called Callaway to find out when it would be available on their website.  The guy on the phone said they may not sell it on their site and it may be a retailer only product.  I asked him why he thought the various websites took the putter down from their websites even though it's in the store but he didn't have an answer for me.  This whole "release" seems very strange.  It's almost like it's being treated as an accident that they're wanting to rewind from.

My local shop had these in. The red shaft is very busy and it kept on distracting me at address. I much prefer the non limited release version.

Bugged me at first as well but played 36 holes this weekend and the shaft disappears for me.  Non-issue at this point.  I did replace the grip with a Black Superstroke Traxion Tour 2.0 grip so that helped as I did not care for the stock grip.

I hear, you and I am glad they did the Rahm, but the "let's make a special putter run for a guy who clearly hates our putters"  is odd. and the Rahm lineage will not sell putters

Interesting.  It sounds like Rahm went to the micro hinge in his new Rossie because of the same issue.
