Presidio & Concordia Club in SF, any members?

Hi all,

I'm moving back to San Francisco after 3 years away and my wife and I are in a place to consider joining this club.  Any members here that would be willing to give an honest take on their experience?  I've submitted a request via the online form and received some info back quickly about the rates and what's included in membership.  About me, I'm mid 30s, active duty Chief in the Coast Guard and will be in SF for at least a few years.  I love golf, my wife wants to get into it at a minor level, we both love good food, networking, making friends.  I would love to play tournaments and have a good excuse to play as much golf as I can in the near future.

Thanks!

Sorry I don't have recent experience with the Presidio club, but back in the day it was a fun club to join.  Hopefully the membership dues are not significant so you can test drive it.

Thanks for your service- my son is in the Navy.

Thanks for the reply!  The membership costs are quite reasonable, especially for a club in San Francisco.  I'm sure it's not at the level of the Cal Club or Olympic, but that's fine with me.

I'm a wannabe Porsche guy myself.  I had an '08 Cayman S when I lived in Pacifica before.  Amazing car and I look forward to getting into a 911 someday.

I haven't had a 911 in a number of years, but kept the picture.  I love them and had two great ones, but I get around right now with my Ram truck and a Mini Cooper S convertible for fun driving around town.

I was a golf member at Olympic for 30+ years but would join Cal Club if I still lived on that side of the Bay.  And play for fun at Gleneagles.  You will enjoy Presidio if you join there.

Just moved out of SF after 5 years, but the Presidio men's club is great. Fun tournaments, good rates, never get bored of the course, takes 2 seconds to join. If you live in the area, it's a no brainer to sign-up. Lots of members at the other clubs (Olympic, Merced, etc.) play Presidio as well given the convenient location.

I know nothing about Concordia club, but my gut says not worth the private membership fees given you're sharing the course (Presidio) with the public.

I ended up joining PGCC and have nothing but good things to say.  The only thing that would make my wife enjoy the club more is if it had a pool!  As it is I am extremely happy with the price for membership and what is included.  The clubhouse has been renovated with a classic feel upstairs and excellent locker room with steam room, sauna, jacuzzi, showers etc.  The golf shop takes care of storing clubs, having them ready to go for your scheduled tee time and cleaning them very well after every round.  I've already played in a tournament and it was a blast, the members are a diverse group and there are a good number of events scheduled every month, both golf and non-golf related.  Away events are regularly scheduled at discounted rates and the club has numerous reciprocals with other private clubs. The food is superb.  Everyone learned my name right away and knows my preference for drinks and so on.  While the club shares the course with the public, there are tee times blocked out every day for PGCC members only and early access to tee times over public access so it doesn't feel like you're just playing a public course.

That's my quick review, if anyone stumbles across this and wants to know more send me a DM and we can chat about it.

wow great to hear! I lived a mile from Presidio for 4 years and was just content with public access - should have joined PGCC when I had the chance!

what's the difference between Presidio Golf Course and Presidio & Concordia?

The Presidio Golf Course is a golf course, you, me, or anyone can call, get a time, pay ~$100 and play golf like any other public course.

The Presidio and Concordia Club is effectively a clubhouse building across the parking lot, operating as your typical private golf club. They have playing rights and access to the Presidio Golf Course (with some tee time reservation priority as noted above)

Tupperwolf hasn't been on here in a while, but probably no risk in checking it out.

And for sure play Gleneagles for a good vibe and fun course.
