Anyone have Ventus VeloCore in fairway woods?

Worth every penny.  I have the Ventus Blue in my 3 metal and it's awesome.  Def as good as the black in my driver.  I like that it's low spin that way it's not ballooning on me into the wind.  Perfect off the deck.  Only gripe I have is that the flight can be pretty low which is fine for the most part, but you have approach shots into par 5's that have trouble in the front of the green where you have all carry into the green.

I did test the Ventus hybrid shafts and they were outstanding as well.  Ultimately went with the KBS proto in my UDI because it performed just as well and cost less.

Do the hybrid shafts only come in blue and black?  For fairway woods is there a specific fairway wood shaft or is it a driver shaft cut to size?

I have a driver. 3 and 5 wood and a 4 hybrid. Could get expensive haha.

Yes that does sound expensive.  Hope you have a lot of f*** you money, haha.  Yes the hybrid shafts only come in blue or black.  I'm sure you will fit into one of them.  I'm not quite understanding your second question.

I use the black in a srixon driving iron and it’s just as good as in driver. Black in driver then tried blue in iron and felt whippyish so went with black and it’s perfect for me. Had a tensei white hybrid previously which also had a little more kick like the blue. So if anyone wants an untipped blue 9x I have a pull that is barely used from the 2 iron

I have Blue 8X in my 3W and Blue 10X in my super hybrid. Absolutely as good as in driver, would highly recommend. It is not going to give you a super high ball flight though if you had that in mind - very mid with great spin.

So is the shaft an actual fairway specific shaft or is it the same shaft that goes in a driver but cut to size

Same shaft as driver except the hybrid shaft. They come 46”. You cut from tip and butt as much as needed to get the length and flex the way you want it

I bought a Ventus red 7s off a member here and have it in my 4 wood. Launches high and goes straight. It feels soft but doesn’t play loose at all. Great fairway shaft.

Yes, it’s the same but trimmed. I do not think Fuji says to tip these at all but don’t quote me. The hybrid is its own model.

Curious if anyone has the Velocore shaft in their fairway woods or even hybrid?  How does it perform? As good as it is in a driver? Not worth it?

I have a Blue 9X in my U510 1 utility. It's fantastic - I can't tell you the numbers because I haven't got them, but on course playability is so much better than with the stock shaft. I went from 80S to 90X, and it feels a lot like the KBS Tour 120S shafts I have in my irons. Ball flight is right in the "mid" slot, spin is low enough to be playable into strong winds and still hold greens, and the best bit is I can hit the centre of the face from both tee and fairway. It's been a fantastic upgrade.

Blue 6X and 7X did not work at all for me with driver. Too much spin. Black would most likely have worked better but there were none available for testing.

I play them in everything I can. Driver I have a Black 6x (45 1/4”) and 7x (44 1/4”), 4 wood has a Black 8x, 7 wood has a Red 9x and my hybrid has a Black 10tx. They just flat out perform in everything.

I started with the 7x in my driver, and that was the beginning of the end for me. I had always played 70g weight class driver shafts and always between 44” and 44 1/2” but the Ventus line has been so stable for me I’m gaming the 60g version over length in a less forgiving head. The shafts are the real deal.

There is no such thing as a fairway shaft 99% of the time.  Nearly all of them are 46" raw shafts that are tipped and trimmed to fit whatever club they're going into, whether it be a driver, 3w, 7w, etc

Hybrid shafts are .370 tip and should only be used in a hybrid or .370 iron

Agreed. Took my driver out for the first round with it, outside of the fitting sim and was blown away. For me it’s not necessarily longer than another properly fitted combo, but it’s way more consistent and I can swing as hard as I want and I feel like it will go straight. Providing honeymoon and mental right now, but results on course match the simulator. Just got word my woods and hybrid are built up and ready for pick up. Cannot wait.

I had a Ventus Black 6s in my Cobra driver and was very impressed with it.  Very stable shaft with low spin and excellent dispersion.

I have a Ventus Blue 7s in my 3 wood, and it is excellent as well.  The best feature I notice with this shaft is tight dispersion, which is the most important to me.

I have a couple of Ventus Blue Hybrid shafts coming, but they are back ordered.

You definitely need to try each model, as the Blue did not work for me in a driver when I tested it.

The red in my 3 wood was almost too good to even try other shafts after. We did and I quickly handed them back, and went to back to hitting red just for fun while my fitter was setting up my 5 wood. Oddly enough the blue worked best for my 5 wood, largely because I think I hit it off deck more often than not and the soft handle felt like it was working for me.

You can use the hybrid shaft in a .335 hosel just have to sand it down to fit

I suppose it's technically possible, but they're generally 42" uncut, heavy, and meant to carry a heavier hybrid head.    That'd be quite a bit of tip to shave away as well, I could see starting to question strength, especially with a lighter shaft.   I've never done it or seen it done but I suppose it might be the answer for someone, somewhere

It was the answer for a lot of people. I did it with a tensei white hybrid shaft, had for two years no issue and now with the black. Works fine as you’re only shaving .035 of a mm

I am going to get fit for my fairways but I play the Ventus Blue 6x in my driver. Does it correlate to the fairway woods? I was thinking Blue 7x in my 3 wood and Red 7x in my 5 wood?

I have the the Ventus Black in my driver and Ventus Blue in my 3 metal that I switch out with the TB depending on the course.  I like the the idea of going with something that launches higher and spins more in my fairway metals compared to my driver personally.  With that in mind, I would recommend going with the Ventus Red for your 3 and 5 metal.

I have Ventus Red Velocore 7 Series "S" 71g in 4wd, and Ventus Red Velocore 5 Series "S" 59g in Driver.  Boy can I wallop driver.  The other day I hit a nice 275yd beaut on a Par 5, followed by a sweet 4wd to a PW leave.  This ole man B happy. 🙂  Thank you @Fujikura Golf

At first, I was apprehensive about 5 series weight, never played a wood shaft that light before, but pulled the trigger and glad I did.  Dispersion is the lowest I've had.

I started with the black 7x in my driver to and uffda did I have to work at it.  Dropped down to the black 6x in the driver and love it.  I also the the black 10tx in my hybrid.  My problem is I just picked up a 4 wood and dont know if I need the black 7x or 8x in there.  I still have the 7x from my driver so that would be easiest but I like the idea of going from 6x to 8x to 10tx in terms of weight.  I cant test it either because the 4wood is a fixed hosel.

Looking at your bag configuration I think the 8x is the better choice tho

Black 7x is perfectly fine for your 4 metal.  You might want to tip it if you haven't already.
