June will roll around quicker than you think! Did you order a stock or custom set? The only reason I was wanting to order direct from TM was so I could get the AW as well, plus I use midsize grips, so wanted to be able to choose my grips. The grips can easily be changed out on the stock set I ordered, but unfortunately couldn't get the AW 😞

I ordered the custom set because I did not want the 4i and I wanted to add the AW. So I ordered a custom set 5-AW. I also needed to add .5 inch and I play midsize grips. Unfortunately the midsize MCC black red had a ship date of August (LOL) so I went with the standard and added tape.

That was what I wanted to do initially as well, just wanted the 5-AW, guess I waited to long to look because I was never actually able to select those options. Oh well, if you decide you don't want the AW, let me know 🙂

Will do! It was weird...I checked a couple times a day for several days, and the 4-P set was all that was available. One day, I hit refresh and all of the sudden the 4i wasn’t even available. As soon as I saw that, I grabbed the 5-P and added the AW.

Nice! For me, I was never even able to see a 5-pw option. Every time I checked it always had the 4 iron checked as a permanent selection. Just happy I was able to snag a set. Now to find a AW that will somewhat match with these irons 🙂

Let me know what you guys think of these irons, I will try out my 3 iron today and report back!

 

This club is an absolute rocket launcher, low spin and pretty easy to hit. However the feel is quite clunky and while it looks pretty clean you definitely won't get that forged feel vs. some other options out there.

The original PVD on the OG 790's was awful.  You could pick the black finish off with your fingernail in flakes.

The P790's got me hooked on distance players irons as they look so nice but one scratch on on the cavity would have me done with them. I do use iron covers so probably wouldn't be a problem but the face would look so worn out that not for me as I did have the PING G710's looked nice as I will take a black out version of a my woods but not irons. I know they are tools not jewels just not my cup of tea.

The irony is, to me, these are the best looking black irons on the market. They just need to figure out the finish.

I have. Also a beautiful set of irons. It’s definitely between these two for nicest black irons. 
 

What type of finish do the 225s have?

Did you forget about the new t100/t200 limited release? Finish is holding up great on them also. Bonus points for matching black finish vokey wedges.

Personally I’m just not a huge fan of the T100/T200 looks. It’s just preference.

For $1,500 these should be Black Oxide or QPQ - or the DBM that cobra used on the black Rickie blades.

 
PVD is a step above paint fill in terms of durability. First shot and you can have pieces chipping away.

P770 is probably still flying off the shelves I assume.  Wait for fall or next year when they're between cycles and need to get people's attention and drive sales again.

I mean the P790 is about 6 months away from getting replaced and they just dropped the black version last month.  And then added paint fill a few weeks later.

Pretty sure. Don’t they usually come out with the black irons right before a new model. Also wondering what it will look like
