The Club at Savannah Harbour, worth it?

Hey all,

 

I am going down to Savannah in a couple of weeks and will be staying right in downtown Savannah.  Quick research shows that the Club at Savannah Harbour is the best public course in that immediate area and also only 10 minutes away from where I will be staying.

 

It is a bit pricey and as I have started reading more reviews I am seeing people complaining about the greens condition being not so good along with viscous mosquitos making it unbearable.

 

I am wanting to know if any of you have been to this course somewhat recently and how you felt about it.  Its almost $180 to play so at the minimum I would expect for the greens to be in great shape.

 

Please share any intel you can before I commit to booking a time.

Played there last week. The greens are not good at all and agree about the mosquitos. It was a fun layout but they may be hurting from last year and convention center being empty. Not sure if they are same ownership but they are right next to each other. I wouldn’t go back for that price. Maybe for $60.

Damn thats a shame but thanks for the heads up.  I was actually hoping to hear that the reviews were wrong. 

Are there any other courses around that area that are worth checking out? 

Would have to be within 20 minutes of the Downtown area.

A few weeks ago the course was in sup-par shape. They sanded the greens about that time. Typically greens are nice and run true. The cost for non-members can be a bit high, if the course is played when the greens are sanded or some other condition (after a storm, etc.).
