Ping i20 irons

Anyone still gaming these? Any opinions on feel, forgiveness, distance etc? Thanks!

I think they are fantastic irons and could easily game a set without any worries.  Played them for 5 years and did basically everything I could have asked.  Feel good, forgiving (each interpret as you will) and a sole that works with my digger swing.

 

I only upgraded really as I got a good deal on a set of I210s and a friend of a friend was looking to upgrade so I rebuilt them to suite him a little better.

I have never hit the i20,  but still game my i10's occasionally and love them the times I do and the i20 are supposed to be much more forgiving.  The biggest thing I do when playing my i10's is the distance is not as good as my current irons. I play 1 club more.

Only knock on the i20's is that they are relatively short, especially when compared to newer offerings.

 

If your a long hitter, or if your ego can handle hitting more club than your partners, they are still a great set of sticks.

 

And yes, I am still gaming mine. Probably the last season for me, though. I need some new toys!

I was gaming them off and on for the last few years until I gave them to a friend who was interested in taking up golf.  As somebody mentioned, they were a club shorter than my current PXG set but there was also a 2 degree loft difference in the irons....so almost a whole club.  I actually liked that though.  It made the gaps with the wedges much closer and consistent.  They are also cast, which meant they felt much different than the forged PXGs, but they didn't feel horrible.  I thought they were pretty forgiving as well.

For the age of these irons, they're still considered a great iron.

I tried a set of i20's and didn't care for them. Went back to my i3OS irons.

It was mentioned that they are short I believe this is only true because clubs have gotten stronger at longer lengths. Once you account for the difference in specs they are as long as any other model in this category.

Good clubs, but for me the i200 / i210 irons were better feeling and looking, with equal to better performance for my game.

Love mine. Feel could be better. Very forgiving, mishits stay straight and get basically the same distance as well struck. They are way easier to keep straight than my blades I came from.

 

i200 and i210 look better but the difference isn't enough to justify the price right now.

For me, they were the same distances as my current I210s.  In fact, I would say I actually hit the I20 4i further than when I had an I210 4i in the bag.

I gamed them from 2013-ish up to now.

Great feel, but I needed more forgiveness so I went for G425 this year. Not an easy call...

Obviously shorter because of the more traditional lofts, but loft-for-loft I see no difference in distance.

And of course less forgiving than game improvement irons.

 

Mine were pretty worn after 7-8 years, otherwise I wouldn't have replaced them.

I played the i20 for a short time and then the i25 for a couple years. Absolutely loved those irons and moving into the i210 seemed natural. The i210s are amazing clubs for sure. Excited to see what PING releases next as I'm sure I'll be grabbing a set!

I have gamed for about 4 years (now second set) iblades and can say my prior i20 are only lesser acoustically (both with modus 130X). The sound and feel of the i210/iblade is I think a lot better but performance wise I could easily game my i20s. From a distance control aspect they’re as good as any CB.

Just put these back in the bag for S&G.  Absolutely flushing them and haven't noticed any drop off in performance compared to my Mizuno 919 Tours.  Maybe a bit chunkier but they go very straight.  The PXi shafts seem to spin up a bit more but overall only slightly shorter.  Ping make a fine iron and am enjoying the walk down memory lane.
