Another Wednesday through Saturday tournament this week with prime time viewing. Check your DVR schedule. Looks like a fairly strong field, with only Hyo Joo and Nasa in the Rolex top 10 sitting out.

The course should play much tougher than in Hawaii. The last two winners at Wilshire shot -14 and -12. Tricky greens and much more trouble off the tee.

The weather looks decent with temps in the mid to upper 60's, and no chance for rain at this point.

I'm going with Sei Young this week. She finiished 2nd here in 2019, and has finished T2 and T3 in her last two starts. Some of those putts are going to fall. Inbee will be up there, as well as Amy Yang.

Not sure why we get the two 6:30 starts, though.

I like Inbee this week with an outside chance of Minjee to defend.  This event has played twice and the lowest winning score was -14, so not really a pushover over 4 days.  Lets see if they continue with the Beth Ann model of dumbing down the course and making it easier.

A part of me would like to see Stacey Lewis win and we can pretend we jumped into a time machine and went back to 2015, with Inbee and Lydia winning this year 🙂

Never forget Golf Central will for ever and always be more important than the LPGA lol

Until they have their own version of Dave Hodge!  After Hodge's incident, the powers that be that produced Hockey Night In Canada changed their policy to permit games to continue without being cutaway for the News broadcast.

For those not familiar, the Stanley Cup Playoffs were underway and one of the most intense matchups was Montreal and Philadelphia ... kind of a rekindling of the 1975-76 Cup Finals ...the game was going into the third period tied at 3  and instead of staying with the live hockey, the powers that be decided to cutaway so that they could live air their News Broadcast  ... not too dissimilar to the cutaways from  Live Golf to Golf Central.

@Stooch ... I think you're old enough to remember this?  OR were you a diehard Leafs or Bruins fan?

I like this prime time golf coverage.   Makes for something to watch that's better than the normal nonsense

For anyone on the West Coast, it's perfect for streaming to close off the work day!

I don't understand why they won't allow spectators here this week. If the county is allowing Dodger Stadium to open back up, they should've allowed some capacity here. I was hoping to be able to attend but alas.

I'll take former local DK to win.

Probably because at the time they decided to go ahead with the tournament things were still locked down. It's takes quite a bit of prep to allow fans on the course, e.g. concession stands, ropes, toilets, etc.

After demoralising poor Nelly a few days ago they decided to give Jessica a go for 2 rounds .... Lydia might not be too popular with the Korda's come Saturday 😊 Seriously though Inbee is always a chance in any tournament she plays in and is my pick but I think keeping herself in position to be able to defend her Olympic title is more important than winning...should the Olympics go ahead.

Good to see her playing well, but she has a big hill to climb. From Solheim Cup member to Monday qualifying. Getting into the field is important, but making cuts and collecting a check is obviously a bigger step.

In Gee Chun is playing nicely again, which must please you!

Yes, minus the mental blunder at the Kia with her scorecard.

In Gee would have had a good week if she was teeing it up. She generally finishes higher on tough courses where par is a good score. She's capable of making birdies, but not like Sei Young or Lydia when they're on a tear.

worthwhile saying that the course is 7 miles from her old jaunting ground - eg UCLA...  i think both who made it had "home course" advantage...

Let's see where they end up this weekend - she's gotta "cash in" on this advantage... otherwise, it'll be all for naught...

My wife works on the side of the hospital on the campus that is across from Frat row.  She says they're still partying like there hasn't been a pandemic going on.

I'd say that's a good sign that she's starting to focus a bit more on golf.

Likely the members don't want thousands of people "contaminating" their club.

We have a couple of high end resort courses here with memberships that didn't want the rates lowered too much in summer to keep traffic down.

It's gotta be tough being Yani Tseng these days, every time I look at the leaderboard she near last place and usually before she's even played 9 holes.

At what point does a player simply toss the clubs in the nearest pond, and take up rugby?

Seriously. This isn't a case of a temporary setback due to injury, or a swing being a little "off". She's DFL in driving accuracy (30.4%), DFL in Greens in Regulation (36.1%), and 120th in Putts per GIR (1.885). Can't hit a fairway. Can't hit a green. Can't stick it close or make a putt. Time to ride off into the sunset and let a rookie have a shot.

Scoring so far is better than I expected. A number of players are tied at -3 with roughly half a round played. The back nine does seem to play a shot or two harder, though.
