Has anyone with some swing speed tried the Tsi1 3w?

My 3w ball flight is just too flat. My next lofted club is a 19* Sim 5w, so I’ve been looking at a tsi2 at 16.5*, but the. i thought about a tsi1 at 15... why not? If anything, my fairway woods go a bit right. Maybe this could help. I always hit the tensei blue really well to. The only other options was the new mizuno, in part because I’ve heard it launches to the moon, and in part because I love the Motore x in my 5w. Any thoughts on either option?

Sounds like you have a great trajectory for windy days! Play it a bit forward and cut it some. That will get it higher when you need it. Your 3w, like all your clubs, is a versatile weapon. Make sure it does everything you need it to do.

Def. try the new Mizuno ST-Z

I too always had difficulty elevating 3 wood and resorted to 4 or even 5 woods

but the Mizzy in 15* is great and don’t have to turn loft sleeve up. Note that it is also a lot flatter lie then other fairways I’ve tried

and the Motore shaft is real deal and just added bonus

Alrighty. That’s all I needed to hear. I just put in the order. I’m not sure if they do it, but I also requested a bit of hot melt in the heel. Seeing that I like the motore x shaft, and the shaft costs $275, I really can’t go wrong here. Thanks again for the input.

This is the issue with belonging to a country club. I don’t need my 3w to be versatile... I have one shot per round where I need my 3w off the deck on the 18th hole. All other holes are fine with drive or 5 wood. My bag is structured very nicely for my home course except this one shot. I really wouldn’t mind having this 45 yard gap between between my driver and 5w but I simply cannot reach the 18th in two without a 3w. I’ve got no other area of the bag to obsess over, so this will be it for the year... well, maybe not totally it, but you get the idea.

^^^ it’s funny how sometimes we obsess about the need for a club for 1 or 2 specific holes at our course.  I have no need for a FW in the bag as my 19* hybrid serves me well for most every long need, but “ego” has me wanting a FW to get on a couple 5’s at one of my regular courses.  My bag only has 12 clubs so room for those “specialty” clubs.

You don't say what your SS is?  If you're looking for a higher trajectory 16.5' may be the ticket, but the shaft combo isn't likely to be your answer, it's not even my answer.  Ultra-light shafts are NOT designed to take hard swings.  I tried a few.  They are designed for slower more languid SS.  In my hands, the club face lags back fractionally open at impact.

I have a TS2 16.5 4wd, adjusted to 15.5' with a Ventus Velocore 7 series 71g "S" shaft, it's plenty high for me; it does not lag, that's why it's adjusted to 15.5.  I may be going back to a 15' TSi2, only time will tell.

I suppose you could put a more fitting shaft in a TSi1 head, but I am not convinced that would help anything.  TSi1 heads are designed and weighted for ultralight shafts.  It is a high launch, mid-spin head, and its core purpose is forgiveness, not so much distance and trajectory.

Ahh, then by all means, look into a bit more loft or a lower CG head. I forget sometimes that I am a strange golfer as I rarely play the same tracks.

Good luck!

Driver SS is 106-107 on course. I’m like 111mph on Trackman if I give it a hernia swing.

I know, I know. But I’ve gone from an 11 handicap to a 6.5 and I really, really want to qualify for my club championship (so that the top 7 of stroke play format with the previous year’s winner getting a bye into the event). I’m gunna have to squeeze every last drop out of my game to get to that point as there are some very good players.
