LAGP TPZ shaft

Recommended Posts

Anybody here playing this shaft for a while? I have one in my Piretti Cortino Elite, and have been using it for about the past 2-3 weeks. The putter is putting a pure roll on the ball, and feels amazing. I do think it provides a more stable "swing" on my longer/lag putts (though this could be purely be snake oil feels). I have a stability shaft (albeit in a Toulon), and I do think that the LAGP feels miles better. Again, YMMV, but I think this whole set up with the putter head and shaft fit my stroke pretty perfectly. It was a $250 uncharge for my putter build, so it's pricey, but I do use the putter most in a round, and this is the best my putting has ever been!

Does anyone know if these shafts will work with a heel shafted PXG battle ready putter? Or, are they only available if you have a countersunk neck like a plumbers neck hosel?

They offer it in a .370 I would imagine that’s for over the hosel installs, but I’d confirm with LA Golf or someone here who has done it

The LAGP doesn't work with an over the hosel application as the ID of the LAGP shaft or many graphite shafts are extremely small and can't be used for that. There are other steel putter shafts that can work for that like the Nippon shafts.

$250 upcharge sounds like it was a good deal given the shaft goes for $400 retail.  I have it on my current gamer and it feels amazing.  Will probably game it for a long time.

That may be the way to go and could even end up selling the head or putting on a regular shaft and selling. $150+ savings on shaft.

I'm scared to pull a graphite shaft from a putter head. Especially first time with that expensive of a shaft.

I do have experience pulling graphite shafts from drivers, woods, and irons though.

How did you decide between 105 and 135. I have no idea how to test. Seems impossible.

For me, I play a 31" putter. I usually increase the headweight a bit on my putters, as well as put a counterweight in the butt of the shaft to stead my hands and wrists a bit. I'm not really targeting swingweight, but with the added weight on both ends, I don't want the overall static weight to get too high, hence the 105.

LAGP just showed they have a over the hosel shaft being tested, no word on release.

My Fitter told me they originally were aiming for a January release. Most likely will be pushed back. Should still be released in 2022.

Anyone tried the Accra Putter shafts or the Muziik Dogatti putter shaft? Keen to hear how this stacks against those as  reference points.

I would like to personally apologize to anybody who has ever read a post of mine making fun of aftermarket putter shafts before.

Just installed an LAGP TPZ 180 in my armlock and while I would never pay retail for this shaft, after a good deal from the BST I could not be more happy.

Going from steel to this shaft in such a long putter has made an astounding amount of difference in the feel of the entire putting stroke. The weighting and smoothness of the shaft is at least twice as good as steel in a similar length. I can no longer feel the steel shaft flexing back and forth on longer putts which was the impetus for the upgrade in the first place (cannot stand that feeling in a putter)

I don't particularly believe that it will make a massive difference in start angle of putts or anything but as far as feel and pace control is concerned, it was definitely worth the upgrade

Everyone’s a doubter until they try one.  I’ve had a few people borrow one of mine that’s shafted with an LA and they notice it immediately.  I’m sure it makes a larger difference in an armlock or longer than normal length shaft.  The quintic told me everything I needed to know when I was fit last year.

Anyone playing one of these with a superstroke grip and countercore weight? Does it fit in the end if you remove the foam? The LAGP inside butt diameter is pretty small.
