Title update. Tiger: From crutches to golf swings

Ya, he skinny legs to begin and now atrophy. Gonna need crazy rehab.

 

Remind me of when I blew up my knee playin Uncle Rico football. Just the thought of that “POP!” makes my stomach lurch to this day. 😱

 

In fact the only good thing was the physical therapist. She look like a young Kirstie Alley. I was havin to concentrate on mundane  thoughts to just keep it together while she was...rehabbing me, lol.

Border collie.  Bold move there.  Easily the smartest breed I’ve ever been around as far as problem solving and the ability to get into mischief.  An uncontrolled border collie is literally a mastermind criminal !    Lol.  Tiger must have a great trainer .  And remember folks. Never trust anyone who doesn’t like dogs.  It’s a sign of the inability to confront their own short comings.  A dog will show you what  you lack.

He's had border collies for a while i'm pretty sure. I remember reading a long time ago that Elin got him one i think before their wedding. So it wouldn't be the same one, he must have gotten another.

 

That one looks pretty big

I had a border collie for 16 years, extremely smart dog. I now have a 2 yr old Australian Shepherd. Good God this dog is smart, figures things out so quick. Easiest dog to train, only issue is she is not as social with people coming over like my border collie was. These types of dogs need to be active, some breeds are not meant to live inside all day and be home alone. Border Collie and Aussies need to be doing tasks and have daily exercise.

We shouldn't be too hard on Tiger , he lost both legs during the 2008 US Open if you recall. It's possible the new ones he got from the doner aren't responding to his body the way they'd hoped.

Saturday and Sunday morning ritual.  While I'm making coffee the little fella takes MY chair.  Why?  Because then I head for the sofa, and as soon as I'm there he rockets to the sofa so he can snuggle up and not have to watch the Euro Tour by himself. Crafty little so and so. Makes me laugh every time!

Me too. The tackle came from the left side and I ended up on the sidelines barfing from the pain. While I didn’t have a pretty therapist the injury kept me out of Vietnam so that was good.

Ooof, hope it’s ok now.

 

In my case, I was  “standing up” a blocker with a shiver and my own DE got blocked and just had to fall right into my legs from the right. I recall they couldn’t take my helmet off while I was laying there because I refused to stop squeezing my face mask with both hands. 

Knock on wood it’s all good now.

 

Hope TW can do some sustainable leg work. Not even for just for golf but general health,  legs the key to the whole chain.

Hey, that guy works out at my gym.  He's the one grunting really loudly, filming his workouts, and giving unsolicited advice to anyone who'll listen.  He tried to approach me once, but I ran 1/4-mile down the road and he was winded by the time he got to me, so he couldn't say much.

Yep, he is having his large backyard practice area redone. 

 

Great to see him vertical!  I think his dog and my dog could be "besties" - I have Linus send him a card, but I'd fear the canine restraining order from Steiny (he just doesn't look like a dog guy).
