?? You just randomly pulled that out of where?

Hopefully his injuries are not infected with gangrene and he won't need to have his leg amputated.

How's that? Enough drama?

Any compound fracture is in danger of infection.  Not just the skin and muscle and fascia, but the bones themselves.  Tiger had a compound fracture of both the tibia and fibula. So his statement is not random or dramatic.  It is actual very educated.

No

But what if aliens wearing invisibility cloaks snuck into the surgery and planted an intergalactic antenna in there?

And what if TW gets elected President one day.

Then the aliens got the ultimate Manchurian candidate!

Not sure how you can sleep at night when this is clearly a possibility

Compartment syndrome is no joke though. Limbs are amputated sometimes because of it. Lasting, debilitating deformity and dysfunction result from it. Unless you treat these for a living and have been seeing the results of this for the last 20 years, its just difficult to comprehend. You just don't drive through and have it lasered off then make your afternoon tee time. LOL.

Of course I know that you're right, ALIF. That appears to be devastating.

I did spend 60 seconds speed reading on wikipedia, so, I'm an Internet expert now.

My question has 3 possible answers for the poster.

A. Yes, his leg is infected.

B. No, his leg is not infected.

C. We don't know.

I hope the answer is B, but I suspect the answer is C.

I think very low chance of infection. It was an open fracture but clean. Not some nasty, dirty farm injury. He had immediate treatment. Wounds were open for a while after his fasciotomies from the compartment syndrome. IV antibiotics, wound care, etc. The bacteria didn't have the time nor the opportunity to cause an infection. Unless an open fracture is very dirty and/or old (several hours) the chance of a deep bone infection is not as bad as some may think. Its something I'm concerned about, but usually they do ok if early, aggressive treatment is instituted.

Earlier he did post a picture on social media showing he was up and on crutches. That to me suggested him and his camp wanted to show the public he was progressing. We have been shown nothing since to indicate further recovery. Like @bscinstnct said earlier, if he had progressed to getting along without the crutches we  most likely would have been shown, or seen that as well. So that indeed could suggest he has encountered some set backs. Like most of the stuff in this thread, pure speculation… Golf is slow this time of year 🤷🏼‍♂️

So what happens if his talus fractures goes into AVN? Then what? Again, his type of injuries historically have a very high complication rate and high rate of long-term disability. If he could recover enough to walk 18 holes 2 days in a row I think that would be a good result for his injuries.

Yeah i guess you underestimate optimal recovery and rehab team lol

here he is on the range, most recent pic

Now you mean ? Of course it's not, at the beginning it may have been but probably not, he just had the compartment syndrome from the reports

The word "is" is present tense. The question was formed precisely with only four words to someone speculating that Tiger's leg must be infected since he hadn't seen him lately.

What, you want me to say, "Is his leg infected six months ago?"

Or, "Is his leg infected next month?"

Well the question was stupid, he doesn't owe us public appearances, why would you assume there is complication lol, it's a long recovery process and he's focused on that

interesting the shoes he is wearing, those look like Nike metcon shoes (workout shoes). They are good for like squats etc. because they don't have much cushion in the heel, it's good to not have any cushion under feet for squats and other exercises, makes you more stable so that is why they are created that way. Not really idea for walking the golf course though for shock absorption in your heel and feet, maybe just got done working out?

He did the zero drop shoes for a while, perhaps he’s back on that kick.  Was saying it helped with his back. I dunno about that, but they do give the calves a workout.

Do we know for certain that Tiger didn't have his leg amputated due to infection? Could that be a very realistic prosthetic in the photo?

Bigfoot sighting of him walking the course at this link. There is also a people magazine interview from anonymous inside source saying he has a date in mind to return to pga tour but won’t disclose it and things are going well.

Here's a video from TODAY of TW hitting balls, looks like he's pretty close to 100% again. He will be back at Torrey.

You sure that’s today? I don’t think so. The video says “watch them swing the SIM2 lineup for the 1st time”.

That video was posted today. It was not FROM today. Big difference. Other YouTube videos of this TM Sim2 session are out there. Like this one. All of the videos were before Tigers car accident. :classic_huh::classic_huh::classic_huh:

This video was posted in April.

This  one from January.

That video was likely shot in late 2020. Especially since Tiger had back surgery again not long after the PNC Father/Son event in December. Freaking hilarious that somebody would actually think that was from today.
