Exactly. If Tiger were to ever pot another major or two or five my money would be on them all happening at Augusta. That's an experience/thinking man's track more than anything.

Right. But I think the odds of it happening are extremely low considering what we know about his physical condition.

Berhard Langer is probably better odds at the moment.

I agree with the experience/thinking aspect of winning the Masters. What I question is will he be able to handle the hills of the course for an entire week. Have you ever walked Augusta?

Only in my dreams have I walked Augusta my friend but judging by the subtle humble brag I'm guessing you've been lucky enough to. I didn't think he'd win again anyway as soon as I heard the location and severity of the injury although I'm sure nobody thought he would win in 2019 either. Likely? No Possible? Maybe, we'll see how he heals and rehabs I guess. If anyone could will their body to do it it'd be Eldrick that's all I'm saying.

P.S.

I’m pretty sure Tiger will play golf again. But by play golf again I mean 18 holes 2 or 3 times a week, using a cart, with his son or with friends.

What is less clear is will he be able to return to PGA Tour golf and all that it demands?  A level above that is can he play and be competitive? The next level is can he contend? Each of these steps become more and more difficult.

Finally if he feels he cannot contend on a consistent basis will he decide it is not worth the pain and effort to continue?

Dude, he shattered his ankle.  Tibia rehab is 5 years.   Foot rehab is for life.

He will be rehabbing until he's age 50 just to have a normal life.   He's DONE.

@SavageCy, I hear you, but age compounds the injury effects and how the mind will cope with it. I think I am saying that right. I mean, it's much harder to deal with a knee injury at 40ish as it was at 30ish.. Tiger is legit, I've been a fan since his start, but at some point despite his injuries, age is going to catch up, and the competitive field never ages....

I know you’re not being snarky, but the point of my post is not to brag about attending the Masters, but to highlight the first impression of everyone who sees Augusta for the first time. It is hillier than they expected. Much hillier than it appears on TV. I read recently that it’s the consensus of Tour caddies that the toughest walk on Tour is Augusta.

Tiger’s experience and familiarity with the course may give him a big advantage. But that might be offset by the physical demands the course will make on his body.

What’s that about the spirit being willing but the flesh being weak?

Originally from the bible, but made famous by C. W. Vandertunt's commencement speech at Grandelin University, circa 1874.

I hear what you're saying and I agree with you, as strong as the mind is the body is still boss in the end. I just hope he heals up enough to still go out there and be somewhat in the mix when he tees it up. I think everyone agrees the week is that much more enjoyable when Tiger is on the course and I enjoy watching him in his new "role" as a mentor to some of the guys out there. As much as I love the fierce competitor Tiger it's nice to see his transition to the this new jovial Tiger we often see out there. Oh and I wasn't joking about that extra ticket though. I'm never going to win that damn Masters lottery! lol

The Masters and British Open is played every year. If he’s healthy enough to walk 4 days then he can win another major

Need to get this place back on track, we have had more posts on P Reed and Bryson recently.

Seriously though, it does worry me a bit that Tiger didn't put in an appearance at the RC.  He could have been chauffeured in a golf cart and would not have had to get up and walk around.  Missing a day or 2 of rehab should not matter given the long time frame he is dealing with.  Private jet, limo, no need to bump with the crowds.

The injuries were severe and things can get complicated.  I can sympathize if his team doesn't want the public to see him in a diminished state, but his absence just fans the worries that he will not be playing competitively again.

I see the point you are trying to make there. But coming back after a DUI and coming back after severe leg trauma are not the same thing. But if anyone can do it, it’s him.

Tiger has always had spindly legs.  At the Payne's Valley opening extravaganza, as Tiger was getting out of Feherty's golf cart, Feherty asked him about his toothpick (something like that) legs.  Tiger smiled...

Yeah, I’d say even money TW hangs it up.

But, he didn’t just come back from a DUI. By that time he was

A drug addict

A cripple who just had surgery enabling him to walk and function

And ranked like 2000 and a wash up up for couple years

So, coming back from all that was as monumental a task as coming back from this

But to do one right after the other is all but impossible if we’re talking competitive enough for the tour much less Augusta.

But, he can work it slow then build back up over a couple/few years and see where he’s at.

True. But with each set back, the odds against him become incrementally higher. This last incident was arguably the closest he’s come to actually dying. Hitting a tree head on at 65mph +. Wow, scary. Still SMH thinking about how lucky he got. I’m still in the camp of hoping he can just come back to physically functioning at close to normal for everyday activities. At this point, any golf accomplishments are secondary IMO.

He is big on golf history and talks about hogans comeback from the accident being the greatest. No doubt in my mind that alone is enough incentive for him give it a go. He is trying to get ready for the masters next year as we speak

It’s obvious the crash was a pre planned self inflicted episode so Tiger could be like Hogan. Rumor has it he had pics of Hogans mangled car above his bed growing up.  There is a movie script already in the works, the working title is Follow The Fun ..  Will Smith is slated as the leading man  😂😂
