Entire bag stolen, time to upgrade/update! Best fitters in Sacramento area?

Recommended Posts

My clubs were stolen out of my van the other day, everything except putter, which I just had re-gripped so fortunately it wasn't in the bag. Bad thing is that insurance won't cover the loss, deductible is $2500, almost not worth the trouble of filing a claim.

As much as it sucks to lose my bag and extra stuff that was in the bag, at least I get a mulligan on equipment choices. In my area we have Dick's, Golf Galaxy, GolfTec, Club Champion, and Haggin Oaks Super Store as far as retailers & fitting options with broad selection. I was fitted for my irons (Mizuno JPX 900 Hot Metal) a few years ago at GolfTec, but everything else was just bought based on the latest hype and what I could get on sale. I have several friends who got fit at Club Champion (Roseville), but want to know other's experience with them as well.

For the record, my equipment was:

Driver: Ping G410

3 Wood: Cobra Amp Cell (old but reliable)

3 & 4 Hybrids: Callaway X-Hot Pro (very old, very reliable)

Irons: Mizuno JPX 900 Hot Metal 5-PW

Wedges: Callaway MD5 JAWS 50-54-58

Bag: Izzo Lite bag

Handicap 13-18, age 54, Male.

PS if anyone in Northern California comes across the above items listed for sale, let me know. I want my stuff back, especially my prescription glasses & souvenir bag tags.

Ah damn, very sorry to hear this. Absolutely sucks!! Hope you can get your stuff back somehow, or at least get some great deals on new equipment as good karma.

Sorry to hear! I like Haggin´s fitting set up for the simple fact that you actually get to see the ball flight and aren´t hitting into a net.

Man, that really sucks.  I hope the perps get caught and soon.  That said, if I were to choose any of those you listed, I would definitely be going to Haggin Oaks.  Those guys have taken care of me over the years and their customer service is top notch.  If Seannie is still there, she is absolutely the most professional and trustworthy rep I've ever dealt with and she won't steer you wrong...

Just know that nothing will be an adequate replacement for XHot pro hybrids.  You need to search for those and reload. For the fitting I recommend Ifit Golf in Rancho Cordova.  They are a certified Callaway fitting center and they just upgraded their fitting bay with the newest tech on the market.  I would go with Matt or Buck for the fitting session.

Curious as to why insurance wouldn't cover it, that is literally what it is there for...  As for the higher deductible, always tough to swallow, but when you price out what the newest release of what you had it still more than covers it.

My insurance covers market value of the item, not cost nor replacement value of similar item. So the JPX 900's I bought 5+ years ago for $900 are only worth $400, that's all they'll pay.

Ok.  When I had my bag stolen a few years ago along with a bunch of other golf stuff, they covered new replacement.  I basically spent an hour on the phone searching websites with someone from insurance finding the new replacement of it.  All in it came to about $9k, so easily worth my $1k deducible.

So as much as having everything stolen sucked, that hour or so shopping was ultimate kid in a candy store.
