Yep, whenever I'm feeling bad about the no-lube "treatment" we get from Golf OEMs in Australia, I look at the prices across the ditch. One of the few places that can out-do the "Aussie tax"

We normally get screwed but this mob is actually the TM distributor now so you can't go anywhere else. I'll be getting one from Aus and getting family to post it over.

The alternative is websites in the USA or wherever that ship internationally. I also have an account with a freight forwarder for those that don't.

I used to feel a bit guilty for going to a fitting and then ordering elsewhere but now I don't. Eff 'em, they're gouging the Aussie/NZ consumer and the only way it stops is if enough people buy elsewhere

Would most of you use your driver shaft set up or your 3 wood shaft set up as a starting point for this thing?  And would you tip it like a driver or 3 wood?  I'm leaning towards treating it as a 3 wood for shaft selection.

I'm going to play it as a driver, but shaft it like a 3W due to the presumed heavier headweight.

As a Taylormade follower, I feel as if the Kool Aide has gotten stale and the ideas have pretty much dried up. You can only repaint and move swing weight around before the retail buyer catches on and sees no difference specially with drivers costing upwards of $499. So for me, this is a bust. Honestly, there are strong 3 woods out there already so to the player possibly looking, let me know, so I can wait for you to post it on the BST for a discount.

If anything this club flys in the face of being a stale dried up idea. You can argue whether it is a good idea or not, but who else is making a 300cc strong fairway wood?

If I buy one immediately I plan on getting it from my home course so I can try shaft options.

How do you plan to approach this? I am pretty sure all my local fitters will not have any 43.75 inch shafts lying around to try on, so just go full length driver demo shaft?

Ever try chocking down?  At least this gives me ideas as to what creates the best ball flight instead of taking a shot in the dark.

@Nevek  FWIW... i used a ~77(?) gram stock fujikura Speeder 3-wood shaft (from SLDR ), in my 2nd-hand OriginalOne (purchased "head-only")
... and the 3-wood shaft works for me

(i.e. IMHO the shorter 3-wood shaft = is more beneficial for ease-of-use/ finding the sweet spot... vs using a longer 45" driver shaft)

I am tempted. Could be ideal for tight driving holes or getting a higher launch down wind...shame it is only £50 less than a SIM2.

Came here to see how much.  That is steep.  Especially if the shaft stinks.  But I am curious.  I loved the sldr mini in 12 degrees.  Launched like a dream.  Much like the ping rapture.    Anybody know if the size is comparable or is this  a lot bigger ?

@bladehunter: Might want to have a look at @Clubhoe’s helpful mini-review/ comparison vs his existing OriginalOne.

Just ordered an 13.5 in Stiff here in the UK for delivery c. first week of August. Thinking that I can turn the loft down to gain some distance (and to get away the closeness in loft to my Sim2 Max 3 wood at 15 degree's) but to then open up the face at the same time as I cannot abide anything that has a closed face angle at all.

I had an order in for a new Sim2 Max with PX Hzrdus RDX Blue 60 6.0 that has been taking forever so I have cancelled that order today which is to be replaced by the 300 Mini Driver that is available when the Sim2 max "might" have finally arrived anyway.

Traditionally I've been "hero" or "zero" with the Driver (more the latter, than the former) due to my negative AoA so I feel pretty confident this is worth a shot here.

Cannot find anything on-line anywhere about the Diamana MiDr shaft so if anyone else can share some insight that'll be great. For me, Diamana don't make any "poor" shafts so unless it's a totally "made for" cheapie it could/should be decent at least and yes it's still easy to throw another (3 wood) shaft in there I guess.

Stores don’t have them yet as far as I can tell.

txg has a review up of a mid capper hitting the 11.5 easily off the deck , flying it farther than his fit 3 wood.

Doesn't really make sense to me. Wouldn't a 460 cc driver head if played at this higher loft and shorter length be more accurate? Bigger head = higher MOI no?

I can't hit a 460cc head to save my life.
Even 430cc is too big for my liking.

This 300cc sounds IDEAL.

My 3-wood is 156cc, and it's so much straighter and just as far as much driver is.

I think the idea is as a 2 wood.  460cc head is way too big to hit off the deck for most.

I feel bad for those who have to order with a stock shaft and can't get it until September.

If I had $400 to spend right now, I could order this setup and have it before August.

Yea. I predict this doesn’t sell well. Not because it’s not good. Because they’re missing out on the hype window from Phil’s win.  At this rate it will be September for sure before anybody gets one.  And guess what ?  I’d bet anything that callaway is working on one for Phil right now.  They’ll get it in his hands. Then release it.

Waiting until the 16th to let these sell here is a mistake.

I've played both the old 11.5 and 13.5 minis with multiple shaft options. Theres no need to tip it, stick it straight in as a driver shaft, it will play identically.
