Looks wise it certainly doesn't look like a modern TM driver on the sole, this could be a good or bad thing depending on the market for this type of niche product.  I'd still be interested in trying it, although I impulse bought a new driver recently.

yeah, definitely a departure from the SIM/SIM2 looks but i'd definitely try one out...didn't care for the SIM2 sole when they first showed them but i love my SIM2 Max driver, sole cosmetics be damned.  the crown is key...

The marketing pic makes the sole look dated.  Like everything though the in hand look is key.  Unclear if this will make my bag this year.  By the time it is released and I do a custom order 60% of the Canadian golf season will be over.

I'm not liking the looks of this new mini 300. I was hoping it would look like the sim2 with the grey crown. Oh well I still have my O.O's

looks legitimate, but performance is what will make for a buy or not. We didn’t get to see the face height or stock shaft configuration (I would assume a KBS deal). 
 

And, it is paying homage to the OG 300 line.

Completely unnecessary. Sim Ti Rocket more versatile off the deck and I assume no real difference in distance.

People aren't buying Mini Drivers because they want something that is "versatile off the deck". They want something to be able to comfortably hit off the tee. I'd say there is a market (albeit small). Its definitely not "completely unnecessary".

It's not smaller if the new mini driver is 300cc. The previous mini driver the was released in 2019 was 275cc. Unless you don't believe TM.

[Righty to Lefty]

Love me a mini driver but haven't ever hit a Taylormade one.  The Bertha mini 1.5 is amazing and I also have an old Hawkeye driver that I cut down to 43.5 inches and is awesome also as the face is so much deeper than any of the other modern mini drivers which I really like.  I need to hit a Taylormade one though as I imagine they are as good as any.

The necessary part of this is the fact that if it is hittable off the deck like the SLDR mini the you have a confidence inspiring 3 wood off both the tee and the deck due to the size, and of course more forgiving. For those of you who hit the middle most times which is not me I think you would have no need for this.

I was referring to the sole. I’m not of fan of black, red and chrome. If you didn’t put TM on there I’d have bet money it was a K-Sig club

Have to agree - not aesthetically pleasing. Its as if they let the engineering department geeks handle the creative design work! 🤢

But it is the bottom right? The top looks great! Also, they are going for more of a fairway wood look rather than a driver look.

 

 

I think that is a smart move. It also is “supposed” to be more playable off the deck. but I would have preferred a dark face rather than chrome.

Yes, had they made the face darker including the steel colored hozel (stealthy, murdered out a bit), it would have solved the issue for me, so then I could have just avoided looking at the bottom.
