I currently play Srixon irons but the more recent Ping stuff appeals to me.

 

At the local golf shop they have all the different models laid out on a rack side by side, and you can clearly see the family resemblance from the Blueprints all the way up through the G425's now. It somewhat underlines that they're committed to the science behind the designs, as you see certain distinctive features in common across the entire line (and they get more exaggerated as the club heads get larger).

From what I've read it is the larger elastomer insert that changed the feel.  I agree, when I tested them they felt amazingly soft and was excited about getting them.  So after an order mess up I ended up sending them back to PING to get swingweights dialed in and some loft adjustments.  It was a fantastic process.  They called me the same day they received them, went over the order with me and I received them back a few days later.  I am just a little nervous about the weight port cover in the cavity, It is a very soft plastic and appears to be adhered with no more than two-sided tape.  Seems like it may come loose over time and fly off, hope not.

14 greens hit, 2 birds......2 bogies on par 5s and HORRIBLY INCONSISTENT green surfaces.....but 1 over 73 with new irons and putter .....not too shabby!

VERY! As expected......flight , height and start line were impeccable.....

 

5i from 175 into breeze......2ft for a bird.....I don't hit 5i into wind from there without it running up.......solid mid high......this was the purpose of switching was the ease of the long irons.....love🥰🥰😍😍

Here's some quick , random thoughts;  

The i210 is an inherent progressive combo set without all of the glitz and glam of modern technology.....no tungsten,  no multi-material sans the extra elastomer,  no insanely strong lofts.......

No the Ping i210 is just a great looking and feeling iron that works for Tour Pros and amateurs alike.....

One of biggest takeaways is the CONSISTENCY in feel.....I've played quite a few combo sets over the years; 2011 Nike vr pro combo,  Srixon Z785 7-pw Z585 4-6 irons, T200 4-gw to name a few.......the MAIN issue for me is the lack of continuity in the FEEL aspect.....long irons in the sets mentioned have a different feel in comparison to the short irons and after awhile,  this wore on me.......call me silly but it just did.

The i210s are just very consistent in standard flight and feel .....for someone who plays alot or not so much , this is just a reliable feature that goes overlooked

If you read the comment,  then you'd understand my response.......comparing T100 to i210 isn't even close on levels of forgiveness for most folk. If you have speed, then it isn't as big a deal. But without speed or sporadic strike, then you'd gravitate towards i210 and get better performance.

I'm in the same camp love my i210 been in the bag for little over a year. I never played a ping Iron before. The consistency on these is the best part from flight to distance to feel. I think this is why so many of the tour pros play them they want consistent distances and thats what you get. I mean you still have to be a decent ball striker they aren't a s forgiving as game improvement irons but they are the best

cb players iron money can buy in my opinion.

I play 5-w in the i210s and love them. They are incredibly forgiving and consistent. It’s like I can’t miss the sweet spot on them. They are going to be incredibly hard to kick out of the bag, and I very well could play these for the next 10 years

cb players iron money can buy in my opinion. 

 

They might not be as forgiving as some game improvement irons but they are very consistent in yardages produced and spin.....not sure many GI clubs can say that.

It’s interesting I’ve seen some people say, they’re GI clubs in this thread. I’ve also seen them called GI clubs before, more so lately than a year ago. I have also seen them called players CB.  Not sure which side they’re on, but the consistency competes with any players club out there easily, but the forgiveness is more GI than players club.  They’re way easier to hit than a 921 tour.

They're the unicorn of irons! I kick myself for waiting 3yrs to bag them!

Given lockdowns and delivery delays, I ordered the i210's without ever hitting them first through my fitter (he was closed down).  Had my MMT 105s shafts pulled from my J15CB's and based on a couple of range sessions and games this past weekend (golf just opened up) - it appears that ball does fly higher and wants to go mostly straight.  Looking forward to what appears to be greater consistency.
