Hey GolfWRX, been responding to threads in the PLM section.  Started down the rabbit hole but said screw it and put it down on paper.

 

I have been talking about my wedge game now for at least 5 months. I came up with my own little technique that seems to work wonders for me.

 

With the power of the LMs I am building a gapping table (which I had in my head already, but again putting data on the table)  

Mind you this took a while so I building the table slowly but thought if anyone was interested to try. Have at it.

 

 

The idea is a 3-9 swing.  Very simple same swing profile to get distances covered between a determined value

 

For me, this is 15y to 75y with LW-PW.  in 5y increments. Various trajectories and spin control. (The idea was to be able to get various spin and launch and really dial in the distances.)

 

 

 

for now, as this took almost 2 hours hitting shots to get the averages as and then add them to the table (10+ shots per setup to get a solid average)

 

To get a base idea of how much ballspeed is needed,  the launch angle based on the ball position. And how much spin is added in those positions.

 

I will be adding the other wedges slowly as again its tiring to do in one go around.

I see the wedge distance and wedge practice come but,  But trying to make sense of the data and having it down on paper is so easy to see and justify.

 

For regular irons 9-4iron per se,  We have set distance gapping's.

 

100y and in,  LW-PW is so touchy for each player, that having a base line to reference and adjust could make the short game solid and confident.  

 

Just my opinion of course.
