Crap experience with WTB post

Posted a WTB last week. Was contacted by what appeared to be a WRX member in good standing (actively posting, good rep, positive seller feedback). 

He offered me a set of iron shafts, and said he'd ship out on Monday AM. I paid via PP G&S promptly and expected to receive a tracking number on Monday evening (or Tuesday, because hey, things come up).

 

No response by Wednesday so I send him a message. I notice he's logged in on Tuesday AM.

No response still by Friday, sent message and email (he'd confirmed a few things about the shafts by email so I know he was getting them). 
No response on Saturday. Sent a message stating I'd open a dispute if not updated. No packages shown inbound with USPS informed delivery or UPS mychoice.

No response by Sunday AM (today), started a dispute, left negative feedback on WRX.

It's not a particularly large sum, but it is an obnoxious waste of time to have to go through this BS. If I'd known he wasn't going to be able to ship for a week-plus, I'd have bought from someone else and my irons would already be reshafted. Yes, I'm doubly pissed because I'm laid up with an elbow injury which would have made this the perfect time to be tinkering.

 

@ScottHutch2, I'm OK with either a refund or you shipping me the shafts tomorrow first thing via overnight shipping. What say you?

And I don't think it's a scammer / account hacked issue... if it is, the scammer sure read up on iron shafts (based on the PMs we exchanged).

If he wants to ignore you, follow through with the dispute. That’s not the kind of seller you want to buy from anyway. What kind of communication would you expect if the package arrived damaged or something? End it now before it gets any worse.

Agreed. I will get my money back via PayPal eventually.

 

If @ScottHutch2 realized he wasn't going to be able to complete the transaction... just message me and send a refund. That'd be the end of it. 

 

Why carry on and waste both of our time? I don't understand the rationale here...

Please do not be discouraged by this seller when it comes to buying on the bst.

 

Many of us here are great to deal with. I'll admit I'm not the fastest shipper but I'm honest and willing to make things right when they go wrong.

I'm relatively new to GolfWRX but not new to the ways of the internet. Could happen on any BST forum...no worries.

I’ve had times where I thought I would be able to ship and then something happens and I have to ship several days later. But I ALWAYS communicate that to the buyer and continuously apologize. This is not the normal here.

I did get a note from him today with an apology and an explanation of extenuating circumstances. 

 

We'll see if he makes it right but it's a start.

At least it was shipped USPS retail ground, estimated delivery sometime next year. 🙄

It looks as if this worked itself out.  The WTB forum is hit or miss and my experience overall is 50% waste of time and 50% good transactions. It never 

ceases to amaze me when someone takes the time to create a WTB post and then ignores messages from members offering them EXACTLY what they 

asked for and if they do they lowball the crap out of them as if they expect to pay 50% less than what the item sells for on eBay or BST.

It's been three weeks and I still don't have the stuff I paid for.

Now it's in USPS purgatory because the seller decided to cheap out on sending it (after two weeks of NOT sending anything) - it would have literally been 50 cents more to send it Priority. 

But maybe my expectations were too high. 🤪

No your expectations wee/are not too high. Delays without explanation and then cheaping out on shipping is at best neutral feedback and I would likely give negative.

I did finally receive the items, but can't in good faith recommend this seller; he had opportunity to make it right by issuing a refund promptly or shipping with an expedited method, and neither happened. 

 

The shafts appeared to be more or less what I'd expected, so that's a plus. 

 

Locking the thread now. Hope further experiences with the BST here go a little smoother!
