Sequencing

So I have what Monte describes as the ballerina 68 issue.  My coach harps on it at all my lessons.  What I'm looking for is ideas on how you've solved this issue?  So far the ideas I've been given are

 

Back to the target longer

Drop the object between legs (Monte video)

Speed up arms/hands

 

I get it right sometimes and hit the ball well but having trouble really ingraining this

 

I'm just looking for other ideas or thoughts that might sink into my thick skull better

impossible to say without a swing.   but from my experience, a lot of the issues with sequencing start right from the takeaway - arms and pivot get out of synch by p2 and it all flows from there and depending on how "much" out of synch there is little to no saving things in transition.

 

so simple drill is butt of club into stomach and make takeaways getting body and arms to work together to p2 - get this down and the rest of the backswing is just more turn on a tilted angle and will be in synch - doesn't guarantee one can't do something in transition like fire the hips to mess it up but gives a great shot at the transition requiring few, if any, compensations.

Good ol fashion pump drill...not the one intended to hold.lag...the one intended to get the arms more engaged.

Butch had tiger do this drill for hours back in the late 90s when they got tiger to his early 2000s dominance. Tiger had a habit of firing his hips really fast and leaving the club behind. They did that drill to keep the club "in front" of him during the downswing. 

 

Get the club to the top. WITHOUT moving the hips/lower body at all, slowly swing the arms down the halfway. Swing the arms back up, then back to halfway, then up, then swing through. Do that over and over. Be careful to not swing the arms toward the ball doing this. They pump down.
