that’s a fair question.

i530 would make more sense

I wondered where i230 came from when those rumors started. Why skip i220?

Other PING threads have links to the trademarks PING has. i230 I know was trademarked but do not recall seeing i220. Cant explain the why, just going off trademarks...

I know it doesn’t make any real difference but I can’t help but wonder about where they come up with the numbers. Not just Ping they all have random seeming numbers sometimes

anyways I wonder how these will combo up with i59 or iblade

Talked to my pro today who is on Ping staff. He said these would be filled. That’s all he has been told.

First, War Eagle.  Second...hell yeah.  I don't think the performance can be improved much but I know the sound and feel can.  It's fine with Prov on the course but range balls...I get alot of looks warming up...

Oddly enough had a friend say it was i510 actually, which would make the most sense...perhaps skipping a series to 525 to get closer to,425...but...who cares?  They can call them s##tsticks and if I hit them well, then call me captain s##tstick.

Dear baby Jesus,

Please tell Ping to release s##sticks in time for Xmas

Amen

They really missed out on the G420 haha I think that the only reason they went from xx10 to xx25.  The 59 in i59 has something to do with the year they started (1959).

I hope they use the alumicore insert. I really like the sound and feel of the i59’s

I'm willing to bet no aluminum core....3 piece process = $250/per

I'd imagine it will be hollowed & filled to keep with the distance player iron category

i500 was hollow and the leaked image of the i525 does have that i59 vibe. It would be interesting for PING to fill the club, no? Sounds like they don't fill clubs often. I have only been gaming PING i210s after a switch from Titleist for a decade, TM 320s prior.

I'd say the category is too new to suggest Ping has history of not filling clubs.

Assuming it is filled one of a couple of things has happened.   Ping has either done some cross licensing (pretty common)  that allows them to use existing tech or they've come up with a material or method of doing so that gets around any existing patents.

After hitting the i59, I'd take alumicore in 525.   I'd pay the price too...almost like avoiding the power spec if you're looking for the distance variant.

But a blend...9-5 I59,5,4,3 i525

Misa likey....

If alumicore makes them more forgiving, and allows for smaller profile - bonus.  But the feel and sound of i59 is pretty sweet.

Didn't they aquire RZN from Nike or was that someone else?

Anybody had a chance to hit these yet? Interested to see if they have fixed the sound/feel issue from the i500.

What are models similar to i500 from other brands? Thinking about buying other irons if the i525 take too long to be launched.

Taylormade P790; PXG 0311 series; Callaway Apex Pro; Titleist t200; Mizuno MP20 HMB--pretty much anything listed in the "players distance" iron category.

I think these will slowly become the favored club choice for a lot of golfers.  I'm a solid enough golfer and love the distance and forgiveness of my i500s and they're in a much sexier package than GI irons I'd need to get the same results.

That would be interesting but if no alumicore I am curious about the improvements over the i500. I didn't hate the feel of the i500 (I understand people's dislike). It was clicky with the Left Dash. Mishits were known sound and feel.

I hope they keep the Project X LZ shaft as a standard option, would definately like to pre-order the i525 4-PW with the LZ 5.5 shaft. I'm at that age where I will take all the help I can get

My pro told me today that his Ping rep said the i525 stock shaft would be the Project X IO, but the LZ shouldn’t be an upcharge either, so you should be able to order it no problem.
