True enough, but I suspect that if Patty T. continues her top notch play, she will just become known as "Patty".

Her name in Thai is ...  Panchangorn Thawatchakit, and she is referred to as "Pro Meow" ... I will be communicating with my Thai colleague soon and will seek additional clarification on this tidbit of Jeopardy info.

@Golf Dino: see if this slightly-old writeup helps with your research on “Patty T” 😬

https://golfistathai.com/10-things-you-didnt-know-about-patty-tavatanakit/

(P/S: Thai calendar year “2562” as shown in the article =2019!)

..extract: “2.Patty Tavatanakit’s real Thai Nick name is ‘Meow’ while ‘Patty’ is what her friends usually call her as a much easier to pronounce version of her name ‘Paphangkorn’, so she decided to go by the name ‘Patty’ in professional golf instead.

Paphangkorn Tavatanakit (first name Patty in English; Thai language: ปภังกร ธวัชธนกิจ; born 11 October 1999)

Hinako and Muni side by side; that's a lot of wattage!

Thanks @18majors... at first glance, I thought that was Ariya Jutanugarn in the photo (right-most side)... won’t spoil the guessing game for the others...

fyi, Details/Link to the Getty Image = For those interested:

(converted to a Bitly, as Getty’s URL itself = includes names of the LPGA players shown in photo... ie would take away the fun of guessing who’s behind the mask! 😷
...p/s: only 4 players = credited in the Getty caption... ie Muni uncredited? And seemingly not-an-oversight ie also uncredited in photo #1316265997 !

Every Canadian knew what was going to happen to Yani, she touched a trophy before winning it, in Canada that's a no-no and brings on bad joo-joo (curse), even Brooke refused to touch the CP trophy at media events before she won it. lol

I know there is a simple answer somewhere; I'm just not smart enough to get it!

Too funny ... I remember thinking that at the time too.

As an aside, Chantel McCabe, was at Torrey Pines for a preview of the USGA US Open and had her photo taken with the trophy.  She was wearing white gloves to hold the trophy, not unlike the Hockey Hall of Fame personnel who handle the Stanley Cup.   She had a question or two enquiring as to why she was wearing the gloves and Chantel, being the hockey fan that she is, responded that she was superstitious and did not wish to directly touch the trophy!   She truly repped her hockey roots!

They are indeed beautiful parkland courses but they seem especially tiring on the legs, with all the elevation changes, from what I've seen.

So we have Shibuno's parents to thank for that lovely smile, Is she very double jointed as when taking a stance her forearms from wrists to elbows appear to be touching, something I couldn't possibly emulate. I hope her parents didn;t take Ben Hogan;s famous book too seriously and bound her arms together too tightly. 🙂

@Tom Kelly That smile 😬from Hinako Shibuno =fabulous!

Actually, Hinako (505,000) has more than Muni (358,000) and the other three combined.

😂😂  that's due in part to the fact that Muni's fans in Communist China cannot access Instagram or other forms of Social Media because of the strict regulation by the central government.

Yani Tseng was going to be the greatest golfer of all time; when she won her 12th LPGA titles (including 5 majors) at 22.  Who'd ever know that she's going to win only 3 more titles and can't break par at 32.

Lexi not playing this tournament also?

She lost 1 spot on Rolex ranking to #9..

Lots of top ranked players skipping this week, including Lexi, Jessica, Nelly, Jin Young, Sei Young, Brooke, and Inbee.

This is a great opportunity for the lower ranked players to shine. We've been talking about limited playing opportunities, so it's time to step up.

Muni He, Yui Kawamoto and Yealimi Noh are starving for CME points, but they aren't picking up any unless they win.

It's a long trip for a single tournament, but like Xiyu Lin last week, they can dream about catching lightning in a bottle and become a Rolex First Time Winner.

Exactly, you'll get 3-5 type of events a year, so you better take advantage, when you get the chance.  The greatest thing for these players is usually in these type of fields is usually the price of winning (total score) is much cheaper, not having the big names running up the score.

Are you kidding, Bianca is playing Pure Silk for sure!

More importantly, she'll play 2021 KPMG Women's PGA Championship since she finished inside Top-10 last year.

that's quite a few weeks/months away still!  for now, Su Oh FTW (live for the present - esp 11pm-whatever the next 4 days/early mornings) 😛
