I still say nobody on the LPGA can come close to Ariya when it come to swing speed.

She sure looks like she swings the fastest, with that 3 wood.

A bit too much "lash" and recoil for my taste.  Looks like it could go wild at any time.  Contrast that with the tempo and balance of someone like Patty Tav

Here's some youtube from Phothalai Range in Bangkok - has some bays with Trackman, and the ball is (or was when I visited once...) Titleist NXT tour, i think.

She gets hold of a few at around 8:40 and 10min in... approx 300yd total

@coopsthanks for sharing 👏🏆... that was an enjoyable watch!

(and Phothalai = has a lot of toys for the GolfWRX  enthusiast! )

The coffee wasn't worth it! I didn't need it watching fire ants half the time and with Su Oh treading water in the leaderboard at Even the whole night...

Then again Jen Thitikul is making it worth the pain of, later when the sun rises haha...

...if @Supermilo is still watching... then SuOh will have paid him back for his efforts!
(currently 6-under for the round, thru 16) 🙂

Instead of that 3-wood... I wonder whether Ariya would benefit from a mini-driver (e.g. a TM-OO 13.5*) with same-length 3-wood shaft?

She only has to ask, and I'll meet her at Phothalai and she can demo my 44-1/2" long Adams 9015d c/w Diamana ZF , that would be something to behold

I think I figured out how to keep the bugs and sun off the players, and keep them comfortable in the heat and humidity. I'm going to be rich. 🙃

What do you guys find works well, to repel insects (esp those persistent midges/ sandflies during an Australian  summer)

i'm wondering if a USB neck fan (with a beekeeper hat / insect repellent ) = a worthwhile comfort trade-off, to keep the bugs away!
I've seen Ariya using a hand-held fan (whilst waiting to hit her shot), but i'm thinking some DEET-powered repellent = much needed?

I live in an area that gets infested with black flies and mosquitos in the spring and a secret trick is an Avon product called "skin so soft", it works amazingly well.

Tasty tongue-twister!:
"Three Two Thais at the Top of the Thailand  🇹🇭 LPGA"

(pity Ariya bogey'd the 18th)

Today=a missed opportunity to have the 3 Thais 🇹🇭 grouped together, to play in the final grouping? IMHO it might’ve also spurred Ariya to show her best KungFu 🥋 against her younger compatriots...

@Stooch: Your statement got me interested enough to google it.

These Driving Distance stats = skewed by Ariya's (#69) preference for a 3-wood... but sharing here for any folks who're interested.

I think Ariya Jutanugarn goes as hard at a 3 wood as any player I've seen.  I guess that's what happens when you don't carry a driver.

Would be interesting to see what she could do with a driver

I've seen her hit driver on the range in Florida and in Michigan at the Volvik. IIRC, it was a TM. She just blasted it. It sounded like shooting a cannon. I've seen most of the longer hitters on the range and I don't remember any other LPGA player with that sound.

I've never seen one in her bag during a tournament.

When I walked with Ariya a couple of years ago in Ann Arbor, she hit more irons off the tee than three woods, The three wood was pretty rare, maybe a few times per round. I think mainly on par 5s.

She's played the driver a couple of times over the past few years, but it's a rarity. She should definitely work on finding one that suits her swing. The 3 wood is not error proof, so if a player is going to hook a 3 wood, may as well hit driver on the holes that allow it.

See attached 3x3 grid (from CNX's Facebook this week)...
i.e. how many of the LPGA Thai pros pictured = can you recognise?

Well it doesn't help when the one player has her cap down, sunglasses and a mask on.  For all I know that is D.B. Cooper (for those of you who remember the legend of the Pacific Northwest).  But otherwise ...

Top Row (L-R):  Atthaya (Pro China), Mo, May

Middle (L-R):     Jan, ??, Waen

Bottom (L-R):    ??? , Jasmine and Patty

Is that Mind in the bottom left (right half)? Pajaree in the middle center?
