What's your handicap and what 3wood are you playing?

11 Handicap and play the Callaway Epic Max 3 wood. Great club.

I’m currently sitting on 3.7 and game a Taylormade M4 15 degree small head 3 wood.  It’s a tour issue head and the loft in standard position is actually 15.1 and 57.something degree lie angle.

I don't keep an active handicap. I shoot mid to high 80's in respectably challenging AZ desert courses from the middle tees. 

 

My 3 wood is an epic flash SZ turned up to 16° and with the heavy weight in the back.

I hate 3 woods... I have tried many, but "fore left!" is the most likely outcome when it comes out for a swing. Play off 7.6. 

 

I think the next one is going to be a TSi 2 - 16.5 degrees set open and flat. Gonna play it shorter (42") with a heavier 85 gram shaft. Distance has never been an issue, so I am hoping that going up to the 4W with the shorter and heavier shaft combo will be my golden ticket to some consistency in that slot.

I fluctuate between 4-8, right now closer to 8. 

 

Have used an M2 hl 3 16.5 with an AD DI 5S for the past few years. Recently switched to the SIM 3w 5w combo with AD VR 5S and 6S respectively.

14.8 and I prefer a 4 wood to 3.  Currently gaming the Mavrik 16.5 4 wood.  Previously used some of the TM HL 3 woods which are basically 4 woods.

 

I get better launch with the extra loft.

 moved from a sz 15 degree with GD   fw 55 reg 43"  to a cobra rad adjusted to 15.5 / 43" with a  diamond zf 50 reg..

 

super set up .Like the cobra as it is very square and adjustable.

i got plenty of distance but no launch, so 3 woods are just low screamers

5.5 currently. Haven’t played more than 10 rounds in the past two years and just got a whole new bag of clubs so I’m expecting to get back to the 2-3 I was prior to COVID by the end of the season.

I went through a period of not getting on with any 3 wood. Found a new Mizuno JPX850, set at 16 deg and couldn't be happier. Off 13.

Just picked up a Ping G425 Max this week. Everything stock, with a stiff shaft. So far, an improvement over my Epic Flash.

23 Handicap, sold my Epic Flash 3 wood and purchased a PING G425 5 Wood. Much easier to hit off the fairway.

9.7. Play a Taylormade M5 5 Wood, turned down to 17 degrees.  Versatile enough from the tee and I can use the extra help getting it in the air from the fairway over a traditional lower lofted 3 wood with a longer shaft.

I'm a bad golfer and tinker who would be lucky to double bogey any hole and don't have a handicap, but I'm using an Epic Speed with a 1.5 inch tipped Graphite Design M9003 in 7X.  Even with a relatively gentle swing, the ball rockets into the air and is probably the best club I've tinkered this year.  I'm sure it would be useless to try to hold a green with, but it would be a great driver alternative on those days the driver doesn't agree with me (which is most of the time).

Unfortunately I haven't played enough this year to get a true handicap for this season but I'm hitting the Ping G410 and that thing is a rocket.  Best 3 wood I've hit since the RBZ 3 wood.
