Per my scoring app, I’m currently a seven, but not enough rounds with the new app to be legit yet.  I suspect I’m closer to ten.

 

I took a flyer and bought a new Epic Star 3W with the Grand Bassara shaft.  It’s really light weight and I was hoping to gain a little more separation between it and my 5w.  I really like the club off the tee, but I am still inconsistent off the deck with strike.  This is way more my technique than the club though.

8.9. 3 wood is my favorite club and most used off the tee. I have an epic speed 4 wood now but hit the sim2 ti and was about 15 yards longer with better feel. So will be going that direction.

I am a 6 and I play an old 16* SLDR Mini Driver as my 3 wood.  I handle all high yardage fairway needs with a hybrid and there is no better club off the tee that I have found in 7years.  

 

Having said that, this new Mizuno 3 Wood is very close but have not pulled the trigger.

TM Tour Issue M6 15* Project X Handcrafted EvenFlow Blue 75g 6.5 built on the tour truck.  Worked for TM and Wade was nice enough to build this for me.  Will take a LOT to take it out of my bag.  Hammer off the tee and easy to hit off the deck.

Ping G410 5 wood head with 3 wood shaft and lofted down to 16.5 degrees making it efectively a 4 wood. Like the slightly smaller head size of the 5 wood versus 3 wood head.

I have moved away from the rocket style 3 wood, this thing spins a decent amount and goes a fairly consistent distance.

Fighting dispersion or just consistency of strike? What did you play before?

10.3 playing Callaway Maverik 3 Wood (not max and not the sub-zero) 15 degree, with PX Riptide 60 5.5 Flex, love it, loved it so much, I got the matching 5 wood. I tried to like the SIM and the PING G410 and 425. Totally a Ping guy most of the set, but lately my driver has been SIM Max and SIM Max2, and 3 woods Cally. Liked the SIM Max 3 wood, but regular shaft a bit light at 50, and for the life of me, I cannot get on w the PING fairways, however, love the hybrids, and have a G400 4 and 425 3. Also play PING Glides and i210 and G400 irons fwiw. Cally has the most classic fairway appearance IMO.

The closed face is killing me, but I like the extra loft so I’m conflicted. Strike is the problem right now. Dispersion on good shots is good. 

 

Beast off the tee, but not working for me off the turf. First time really using a 3 wood but thinking of switching to a more forgiving 5 wood. Should probably be playing a max anyways but I really wanted the adjustability.

Ah, yeah. I hated the look of og sim ti. It looked closed to me at std loft. Can't imagine what it looks like 2 clicks higher loft and that face closed another 3 degrees. Thing would look like the face points to my left foot...

Haven't had a 3 Wood in the bag in over a year, as I just never hit it and when I did it was inconsistent. Have been using a 19˚ hybrid. I haven't made any changes in a few months to my bag, so I was bored (a true WRXer) and recently have purchased a Sim2 Max 15˚ and we will see if it sticks in the bag!

2.3 and playing a 2016 Taylormade M2 with Matrix Black Tie 6M4.  I've really been thinking hard about moving to something a little more forgiving since I'm using fairway woods off the tee more than I used to. 

 

I've been looking at the Mavrik and the PXG 0211 fairway wood, but haven't decided yet.

Mizuno ST-Z 3 wood stock Evenflow Riptide shaft, which I hit mostly off the tee and have the ST-Z 5 wood for off the deck.  Playing at 10.9 here...
