Tour Ping i59 irons - 2021 Wells Fargo Championship

I'm curious to see how the forgiveness compares to the iBlade. They have got to be the most forgiving compact irons I've ever played and I don't want to give up that help.

Seems like i500 tech in an iblade. Maybe internal tungsten weights like ap2/t100.

The face on pics of the short irons look off...but at address they seem fine.  Weird.  Overall look good even with the (seemingly) 238047 grooves.

Still not a pocket.  It's the bevel coming from the muscle.  There are 2 bevels there.  One coming right from the muscle and another going more horizontal into the "cavity".  All you're seeing is some bag chatter or pencil marks.

These look REALLY good.  Feel has always been the hard thing for me on Ping products.  Let's see what these things sound like.

The blunted toe look from Ping irons is just so spot on. 
 

Really have done a great job making it their signature look.

I'll be very interested in the differences between i59 and iBlade. I have 3-W in iBlade, but play 6-W in Blueprint with the 4-5 from iBlade (3 iron is just not used enough and taking it out lets me play a 3w and 19deg hybrid). 

 

If these are hotter/more forgiving that iBlade, I'm ordering a 4 and 5 for sure. If they're more demanding than iBlade, I'll just admire from afar.

To whom this is aimed at...Low HC/Pros...If the feel isn't soft then I suspect it may suffer similar comments/fate to the i500.

Looks a little like the old Nike grooves or what some Callaways Staffer (e.g. Phil) use right now.

I think Phil called them "Spin Grooves" in a WITB video recently and referred to them to being less prone to produce flyers from  the rough. I am all in for that

I'm thinking they're one-piece - the nick on the 6-iron back doesn't look like chatter from a cast club.

As a current iblade user for a few years now that probably need to be replaced soon, I don't really know what to think.

 

I don't need hollow/unsupported faces so I hope that rumor is untrue. It looks less "split cavity" so less forgiving than iblade. And the leading edge looks very sharp with less bounce that will hurt us golfers that play in wet, clay, Bermuda turf and need some help to not dig into the turf.

 

So basically every characteristic that I liked in iblade is gone. Glad I've been waiting for a year...

Guy at my local shop is pretty plugged in usually on what’s coming out.  He said these were i210 replacements, now I will say from what I’ve read they may be replacements for both iblade and i210.  I have a set on order with them, they’ll be placed once Ping opens up orders in their portal to retailers!!

I'd also ask if the pocket was there why would the tech be hidden so well and so small? and why would you have a swing weight screw on top when the pocket was used for a similar purpose with the i210s (the feel dampening element might not be needed with the i59's forged heads).

 

These do look fantastic, the high-toe looks a bit pointy, but I think the leant back shafts in the pictures excentuate that slightly, they look very PING.

Bummed the hosel notch is sti there. Makes me wonder if the entire iron is forged or just the face.

 

To my eye, they look marginally bigger than iBlade. Anyone else see that?

I was (am?) hoping for something slightly hotter and more forgiving than iblade.  Based on these pics, they look like a mix of iblade and blueprint.  That makes sense from a segmentation standpoint, but would put me out of the target demo.

Why would you want a "hotter" iron? That's what the hollows are for. These are for better dispersion, specifically front-to-back.

 

If you want a "hot" iron, you'll want the 525.
