Ping i59 irons - 2021 Wells Fargo Championship

Will there be a 3 iron available in the I59. Someone posted around $1500. for 4 thru PW.

At that price point I hope Ping offers free shaft upgrades, but then we say that every year for every manufacturer

These look really stunning...they will look good in my Hoofer Tour bag 😎

Moved from Mizuno MP30 to Ping i500s for decreased lofts/+distance (age-related drop) and have been bothered by the blade size but these beauties in the stronger lofts might be the answer. The thinner top line, slight cavity-back, smaller blade length, are all very attractive to me. Can’t wait to hit ‘em. Look more “user friendly” than the Blueprints.

Any chance more of a i500 replacement?  The TM790's have had a slight redesign and offered in black now while the i500 have been very quiet.   I do like mine a lot but could use a refresh without giving up the forgiveness...

I have seen reference to an i525.  No idea when we would see anything on it though.

This is a perplexing design. iBlades are due for a refresh, but the blueprint is not old, so no real need to release the i59 as a true one piece blade. I210 is approaching legend status, so replacing them seems unlikely. The i500s are due for a replacement but the i59 profile doesn’t seem to line up with a hollow body distance iron, not to mention the fact that Hovland has these in the bag. Doesn’t seem like the kind of guy looking for a distance boost.
Pure speculation, but what I would think is reasonable is an evolution (not revolution) of the iblade. The design could be a 2 piece forging (face/hosel and rear cap) with an integrated CTP between face and rear welded/brazed together. This would allow for the use of softer steel throughout the whole iron (none of this forged unsupported face=forged club nonsense) while maintaining weight distribution/MOI ping is known for. Their use of polymer based CTP is basically a Ping staple and would give a design similar to the iblade but without the “pocket” showing.

Less drastic design could be a 1-piece forging with a cavity milled out, filled with CTP and cap welded on so it doesn’t show. That would essentially be a forged version of the iBlade. Interested to find out what it is.

That little ding/chatter under "Forged" makes me think the body is probably fairly soft. Just a guess.

Great eyes for noticing and pointing that out.  Based on that ding, I would agree Ping is using a much softer material than previous models.  I’ve often regarded to Ping irons as built like tanks, that’s truly not the case with the i59.

I’m ready to spend money I don’t have...just say when! 😅

Same. They REALLY need to add those as an option.

Ya. I saw that earlier. That's not chatter. That looks a lot like a single-piece forging back there.

It's probably just blueprint2, but with the size of an iBlade. The face of a blueprint is small, and it does take a while to figure out the sweet spot. It's a hair away from a shank, but these will certainly move the centre away to a more normal place.

For me, I have to remind myself where to hit my 210 4-iron, because I found I was hitting it too inside. These will probably feel more normal when it comes to distance from hosel-to-middle.

Thats exactly what I was thinking. An iBlade successor with Blueprint "technology"

yes - been waiting for these shots. Combo with the new i525's anyone? Wonder how difficult it would be to gap the transition point

If that is doable (in terms of gapping, it might make i59 a serious contender for my fitting that I plan to do at the end of the season. I doubt i59 will be the right club for me in the 5i and 4i slot

I got my i210's built with MMT's by fairway jockey. TXG also has an online store that will probably be able to build them up for you no problem. If there's a will, there's a way.

True, and did this in the past (OT-I shafts installed in my Mizuno MP-4s) but would prefer not to pay for the irons and in addition for the shafts plus installation cost.

Since Ping purchased Nike IP, what if the i59 irons are going to be a newer and upgraded version of the Nike Vapor Pro Combo irons (some on this page have said this release is supposed to be "the iron to end all irons") - leveraging iBlade, Blueprint and Nike IP - not hollow cavity but filled in 3i - 6i (more forgiving and higher launching long irons) and solid in 7i - PW (shot shaping and control)? Pleasing appearance and playability. Pictures look similar but different badging, etc. Seems very logical and tour pros (VH) are not going to game a hollow body iron...may have been why he was playing iBlade long irons?

If I had to guess these are going to be Blueprint pricey. They essentially look like they took the Blueprint, put it into a iBlade size because, and added some more tech.

Forged probably in the same way that i500 is with a forged face, cast body, maybe tungsten weights inside with some sound dampening foam.

Guy at my local shop is pretty plugged in usually on what’s coming out.  He said these were i210 replacements, now I will say from what I’ve read they may be replacements for both iblade and i210.  I have a set on order with them, they’ll be placed once Ping opens up orders in their portal to retailers!!

There's no chance these are i210 replacements. Not even in the same ballpark of iron IMO. I'm actually surprised these are even called i59, they really should be an S-series iron and be S59's.

S59 already exists, maybe Ping didn’t want to reuse a previous model’s name.  Maybe Ping is starting a new line?  This doesn’t fall in the i210 category of cavity back design, it appears to have a larger footprint than the players irons, Blueprint, and definitely not a game improvement line.  Whatever it is, can’t wait to have it in the bag!
