Best golf polo

Very interested in knowing what WRX has to say...I have tried RLX (material feels good), Greyson (material feels good as well), Lulu Lemon (ehh), Nike [Premium version, non TW, $90 msrp] (doesn't breath well) and FJ (not a great fit).

 

What are we thinking?!

Peter Millar is pretty stellar, also really liking Rhoback lately. Peter millar has enough different lines/fits that you can find what your preference is pretty easily. They’re at least a size down maybe 1.5 sizes on Nike

I'll get flamed but Costco has Greg Norman shirts. They cost about $14.99 and they are true to size and moisture wicking. I own 3 or 4 of them as well as the pants and shorts. I'm not spending $50+ for a golf shirt.

Uni-qlo, Polo, Tommy Hilfiger, Under Armor, Nike and Adidas are all polo shirts I wear.  Can't go wrong with any of these brands and they can all be had at modest prices if you go to the outlet stores or buy them when they are on sale.

Usually go with Nike. Always buy on clearance from Dick's or the Nike Outlet. Right after Christmas, they're like $15 in my area at the outlet store.

My favorite polos are Greyson, J Lindeberg, Peter Millar, and FJ Athletic Fit. Just recently got some Holderness and Bourne polos and they feel and look great.

Johnnie-O is really classy looking stuff.  Don't own any myself but always a fan of their look.  Kevin Streelman wears their stuff on Tour.  I know they sponsor some others but drawing a blank ATM.

Seems like I have to give the classic Peter Millar a try as well...I always thought their fits were large boxy and oversized...but i should give them another shot

Just bought a few Dunning. They look great.  Fit could be a little slimmer but for all but the slimmest of guys it’s probably fine.  Look nice, weren’t $100 each, which is nice.

I prefer Peter Millar just because I'm not a fan of logos and branding on my golf polos (Nike, Adidas, etc. love to throw that logo on there). 

 

However, I typically only buy them when they are on sale. They aren't worth the $80-90 full price mark in my opinion, but are a great deal when you can get them for under $50.

Well you should not get flamed. There is or was a guy on this board that works in the industry and said that the Greg Norman brand was one of the best in terms of quality

The only brand I have not had a negative experience with (fit, fabric, wear) has been Peter Millar.

If you haven't tried the FJ athletic fit then it'll change your mind about FJ shirts lol  Holderness & Bourne and Greyson are the best shirts i've worn and still look brand new after 2 years.   I love Nike but their polos only look nice until about the 5th wash lol

J. Lindeberg has a modern fit even with their standard (non slim) fits.  Greyson, you usually have to get one size down for a better fit.  GG and G/Fore are a happy medium between modern and traditional fits.  Not super tight and not baggy.

If money isn’t an issue definitely check out Lululemon. They aren’t traditional in the golf sense but being workout based they can take a beating and are super versatile.

Polo?  There is talk about "growing the game"; maybe wearing denim shorts, a basketball jersey that is 5 sizes too big and flip-flops will encourage more people to come out to the golf course.

You know, I actually bought one before and still use it. 3yrs old and still is in great condition. I also agree they are a bit under the radar for golf attire...their shorts are my golf shorts of choice...(pricy but totally worth it)

For sure. I also like how they aren’t super “golfy”. I can wear them on the course, to teach in, or out to eat and no one immediately thinks I just came from the course. Needing clothes to wear for both work and golf Lulu is definitely my top choice.

This is for the bigger guys, but Adidas is quite nice I like the feel of the polos, one gripe is that they are a touch short. I just ordered some Bonobos shirts and I'm quite pleased, haven't played in the yet but they are plenty long and roomy as well. Have to try some of these other brands listed, just need to see if they have the bigger sizes.
