No one interested in drivers this year?

Finally got out for a full round - first full 18 since before the injury lay-off. Hit 12 out of 14 fairways, and the other two were actually playable and in one case, just ran out of room on a dogleg. Will take a lot for the zx5 to kick the G400Max out of the bag.

if only I was hitting the rest of the clubs that well, but progress, not perfection 🙃 my feet are killing me…

AI Smoke Max Tensei Blue 55R | Cleveland Halo XL HyWood 3+ Tensei Blue 55R

G430 4-5H Alta R | Srixon ZX4-5 7i-AW Dart 65R

Went to the local Dick’s a month ago to check out the 425 mostly because I was thinking I was kinda out of the stiff flex period in my game.
I hated the 425 with a regular shaft way to much spin and the sound in an indoor hitting bay was over the top,  ear plugs would have helped.
saw last years sim max with a red ventus regular and loved the sound and the performance.   Chopped an inch off it and added a bit heavier weight and I am now back out about 250 260 on the course.   Arccos had my old ping 410 at about 230 average.
so I saved about a hundred $ and am longer than I was.   Winner winner

If a company introduced a 375CC to 400 CC size driver head I would be interested to try it and maybe buy it.

Cleveland TL310 10.5* driver

Cleveland HB Launcher 15* 3-wood

Srixon H65  19* 3 hybrid and 22* 4 hybrid

Mizuno MP63 5 thru 9-iron

Cleveland RTX 48-52-56-64 wedges

Scotty Cameron Classic III putter

Can't say that I am not interested in drivers,

But, purchased driver upgrades , and now will play. Unless something stellar is introduced, I am all set,  new driver is probably a few years out, only way to get value at today's prices is to play clubs for a few years.

I am very satisfied with the Tour Edge Exotics EXS Pro driver and woods.

Exceptional performance.

I’ll sum up the buzz. It seems the consensus is TSI and then everything else.

Disagree as well.  The SIM2 and the Epic Speed are right there with the the TSi3.

I'm getting the itch to try out a different driver, possibly Sim2 Max.  Been bouncing between TM and Mizuno offerings the past few years with some Srixon mixed in.  So as a starting point, I cruise the forums to see if anything seems like it is generating a lot of buzz or interest.  Crickets.  Lots of talk about irons and wedges and almost nothing about drivers whatsoever.  Just a slow year for drivers?  Looking for something in the fat part of the bell curve.  I know all the releases, just surprised that nothing seems to be really exciting anyone this years.  Seems like most years there are at least 1 or 2 offerings that spawn megathreads.

drivers are getting to the point that they are pretty maxed out.  There’s not a lot of difference between the prior generations anymore.  Just watch some txg videos or other YouTube reviews.  There’s not a lot to get excited about.

I tried the Sim 2 Max and Callaway equivalent last week. Both were really good. The TM was definitely slightly more fade bias, but not much.

Unfortunately they said there was a 12 week wait for Callaway custom orders and the Sim shafts were limited. Add in range balls...

All the decent fitters are booked up for months over here, and all the OEMs have long lead times for custom gear.

I’ve ended up ordering a head (SIM 2 Max) and some shafts to try it with. At least I can do some proper testing with it.

There are lots of new options to get excited about, it’s just the season is going to be done by time you get your hands on one.
