Seriously though, I’ve wondered about some of the lighter Ventus shafts as well. They’re known for their stability, but generally speaking, heavier shafts are usually more stable, so it seems reasonable to assume you would lose some of that stability in the lighter versions of the shaft.

Ventus line is very stable even at lighter weights.  The tech/materials for shafts in general is so good these days that stability isn't nearly as affected as in the past.  Does using a heavier and possibly shorter shaft increase the chances of finding the sweet spot?  In theory yes.  The only issue with lighter shafts is being able to feel the head IMO.

Anyone had the opportunity to try the new (weight) Ventus Black 5x? If, how does is compare to the 6x?

Did you get to hit it? Any thoughts or reviews?

Haven't taken it on course yet but range tests so far are giving me great results. Got it playing at 45.75 definitely feels alot easier to move the club faster compared to my tour ad iz and tesnei white 1k 60tx.

Club head speed is up to around 119-122mph and it still has tip stability at impact - just doesnt feel like I have to work as hard to keep swinging that fast compared to my other shafts.

Will get it on course soon and report back and also grab some numbers from launch monitor.

  • 2 weeks later...

Used mine today for the first time in a ts3 head. Coming from a tensei raw blue 55x. No monitor numbers to report just on course, but i can say it feels very stable and by feel I could tell I was getting less spin with around the same launch and distance (swing speed avg. ~110). Hit more controlled cuts, but it was still easy to turn over and draw. I’ve always been a blueboard guy but this shaft is going to stick around for awhile.
