Generation 3 P790 in 2021?

Had my golf shop check and see my order was going to be delayed. So far still scheduled for 9/17 arrival. Fingers crossed.

Just been told that the “Official” dates for the UK are:

 

Pre-Orders: 10th August

Launch: 3rd September

 

It will be interesting how much stock is ready for launch though or if everything will immediately go on back order for months!

 

I would hope that TM and Titleist have been keeping stock of shafts and grips back from outgoing products to be able to deliver a large batch of initial new orders!!

So that’s surprising they are saying the LZ 6.0 is an option since the site is saying 11/4 for that shaft. I’m considering ordering a stock set and just having the heads put on my blackout LZ’s.

So I did some digging on TMs site, and called…apparently the 6.5 LZ shafts are in stock but they are back ordered for the 7-iron shaft. So if you’re going to place a new order, place the order for the 7 iron completely separate and order it with whatever shaft you can just to get it.

Just got an email that my order is delayed by two weeks. Looks like it's related to the heads though? Grips and shafts are in stock. Placed my order 7/29

TM deleted the DG 105 from the order platform so there would be stock for the launch.

As did I...placed my order on 6/29 and went with 4-AW with projectX LT 6.0. I will call tomorrow to see why they are being delayed if I can swap anything out...if it's the heads then I guess we are all out of luck... Expected delivery was 9/2 now saying 9/14.

So I just called TM after getting the dreaded email about being delayed.  Customer service told me that all of my components are already in except the heads and they are now delayed until September 1st (was August 24th) and that all orders will be slightly delayed due to this.  My shafts and grips are in so its just waiting on the heads.

just called TM and they said that my clubs won't go into production until first week of Sept and expected delivery by 9/17.  I'm leaving for Kohler and Whistling on 9/3.....

I have already pre-ordered my set in the UK about 4-5 weeks ago Nick. I’m hoping to get my set sometime next month.

Really good looking head, but to my eye that top line does not look any different to my gen 1 p790’s. The770’s still look much thinner. Don’t get me wrong… long time titleist guy who loves my 790’s. Just trying to figure out if its worth it to upgrade?

2021 P790 heads are really clean and nice looking in person compared to previous generations. In my opinion, form and fit are not that different from 2019 versions but because of the finish, they appear to be bit more compact. Strike wise they are as punchy and forgiving as 2019. Speculation is that injected foam filling is different than previous generation.

 

Pics I shared are close up, so bit exaggerated. I might have taken the pic at an angle that is contrasting top line even more. At the end of the shaft, the difference is lesser, but still noticeable. Hope that helps.
