I didn't want to rain on your parade but you were never getting those clubs on July 20th. You should have never expected to either given that all the information provided so far has hinted at  September release and no TaylorMade won't miss your business.

I feel for ya. I ordered the black P790’s too. Once I saw they weren’t shipping until 6/24, I canceled the order knowing the new generation would be coming.

Pre-ordered mine just now. scary to order clubs prior to even seeing a picture.  at the same time I am super pumped.  8/31 ship date.

As stated above, there’s a glitch in the system, and they won’t be shipping until at least 9/3. Not that it’s far off from your 8/31 date. I’m considering doing the same.

I don’t know how different the dealer site we work with is from the retail.  But most of the 9/3, availability was for the stock Fuji Ventus snd TT VSS.   Almost all the KBS or UST and others showed October ish time frame.

Per TM’s website, most KBS shafts will be available 8/31 or 9/3.

I got fitted for Nippon Neos 950GH reg flex for the gen 2 P790s. At the same time, I hit my friend's Callaway Apex CF19s with TT Elevate 95 shafts. Like, really really comfortable with them. Even though they're the same weight, I almost feel like the Neo's are lighter. Now I can't decide with one to go with. On paper they should be really close (fitter didn't have the Elevate shafts on hand)

  They are "shaded" on the site but can be ordered. How does one buy a club , sight unseen ? Are we all assuming it is just an iteration of the last two models ? What if it is entirely different ? We WRXers are fish with big appetites, any worm in the water produces a huge hit !!

Let's hope that is correct.  It wouldn't be good to have a brand new release and have to wait a month or so on some shafts.

Dick’s/Golf Galaxy has the new P790’s available for preorder-order. It says they ship September 3. That date seems pretty set. Still bizarre that they are available to purchase without even an image of the iron.

Is it really that bizarre? The p790's are one of, if not the best selling irons in TM's history. The 2nd generation was slightly better than the first, so I'm just guessing here, but there's probably a lot of people thinking that it will be a trend with the upcoming 790's. And let's be honest, we pretty much know what we're going to get in terms of size, performance, etc.. we just haven't seen the final product. Have some patience amigo, we all want to see them, and we will soon enough.

I get what you’re saying but, as we all know, looks do matter to a lot of people. There are many comments in this thread from people looking for a thinner top line, less offset, etc. I agree that you “know what you’re getting” with the P790, but that’s a good chunk of change for something you’ve never seen.

Don't expect a crazy change. Maybe a shade thinner topline. Offset likely won't be adjusted. The face / body of the club will most likely get a facelift. This club is already a winning formula. My dad loves his. I enjoyed mine when I had them. But, they didn't need to do much to this. Just marketing and generating new interest.

I think, with all of the new golfers that ran their way in to the sport from the Covid season, the golf industry (most specifically the "lightly used" and "demo" sets) will be capturing a very high amount of the market. But people still need clubs in the bag and that's where these will likely come in to play.

The P770s are absolutely stunning looks wise.  Before the P790 v2 came out I actually wrote I hoped they got rid of the badge looking thing to make it really look like a blade. They didn’t, but did on the p770. I’d be shocked if the P790v3 doesn’t do the same. Looking at their silhouette it appears they are rid of that false badge.

These have me interested as I loved the Gen1 790’s. At $185 a club I believe the PXG Gen3 P at $149 a club is just a better deal.
