Mesa/Phoenix Course Recommendations? :)

Hope you are well! 

 

Taking my first golf trip to the desert next week, super excited! 

 

Any courses that I need to get on the short list? Looking for something with awesome views, good vibe, not too uppity is preferable, etc. I'll be taking the wife as well so something she can enjoy too as a ride-a-long.

Take a look in the Southwest Forum. There’s a long pinned topic on recommended courses and also a separate active thread on course conditions. 
 

I’d put WeKoPa, Southern Dunes, and Troon at the top of the list. Grayhawk would typically be there, but one course may be closed for NCAA.

Southern Dunes is great and a pretty good deal right now.  Troon is excellent .. always.

Definitely WeKoPa - both courses.  I would also add Talking Stick North - one of my all time favs in the desert.

WeKoPa and Talking Stick tee times have suddenly become much harder to secure since Golf Magazine released their latest Top 100.  Heading down the second weekend in June and neither have anything available!

LOL - you have no clue what you are talking about!  .. Wekopa  S has been #1 in AZ and Wekopa C in top 10 for many years now!  Talking stick has always been 'listed' towards the top...despite it being average at best.  

 

And times are not hard to secure...I played Wekopa 4 times in the last 20 days with zero issues.  TS has plenty of times 3-5 days in advance..

I stand corrected.  Looks like I just chose a bad weekend to visit.
