Thoughts on black shoes

I have a pair of black Adidas Tour 360 that I only wear in winter/less than ideal weather. I just prefer a white or light grey shoe most of the time.

They’re fine, not as fashionable with shorts, but they stay looking nice one heck of a lot longer than anything white. I only ever wear all black golf shoes, with black socks, of course.

I prefer black socks white shoes, or white socks black shoes.

When I was a junior I had a pair of Black FootJoys with Brown Croc. Got plenty of stick for wearing them but I felt awesome in them. 🤑

Black shoes go with black pants, I moved away from NY to not wear pants. I don’t own black shoes

I wear my all black models much more when wearing long pants in off season. I will wear then with shorts but not nearly as much as my other shoes.  They're my first choice however after ground is soft from recent rain.

I def think it’s a look that can be pulled off, but IMHO, they have to be a more athletic looking shoe...no classic FJ saddle type shoes. And no show socks probably help better the look too.

All black, classic saddle shoes when worn with shorts make it look like the wearer forgot to put on their pants when getting dressed for the day.

 To each his own.  To me, white shoes look dorky unless you are wearing white shorts.  And with pants... forgetaboudit.

I say no to them when wearing shorts but they look fine with the right color slacks.

They're great. Just make sure to have some black or grey socks to wear with them.

Any white shoes with khaki pants, or just Rahm's little white boat shoes? White shoes, in general, certainly doesn't look bad with khaki-anything.

I think it was the combo of dark khaki with big, bright white shoes. Almost any other color would have looked better.

I have black, brown, white, and black with brown trim shoes. 

 

I wear black shoes with long pants. Sometimes I'll wear my brown shoes if I'm wearing tan pants but I usually wear black or gray pants when I wear long pants. If I'm wearing long pants it means it's cooler and I tend to wear darker colors.  I never wear white shoes with long pants.

 

When I was younger I always thought wearing saddle shoes looked dorky with shorts so I always wore a sneaker looking shoe in white. 

 

Now that I am older I don't care as much about my shoes and socks when wearing shorts. I'll wear saddle, sneaker, whatever pair I feel like wearing that day, any color. I'll wear black or white ankle socks. My white socks do have black trim so I feel it works when I wear black shoes. I always color cordinate my shirts, shorts, and belts but I don't pay much attention when it comes to shoes and socks.

 

I even have golf sandals. No socks with them.

I only wore them a few times. I got them at Golf Galaxy on clearence for around $10. I figure I could take the spikes out and wear them as regular sandals. I had to try them out on the course.

I'm not a fan of the "athletic white shoe trend" on tour.  Perhaps they look less silly when worn with shorts, but yuck with pants.  It's like wearing white basketball shoes with suit pants.  Finau looks ridiculous.  Same with Koepka.  But hey, what do I know? They sell like hot cakes.

I have, PREMIUM leather and their new sole is minimal but provides enough grip, comparable to lets say a puma OG or tru links can easily be worn off course and on.

My thought, as a younger-ish guy who sometimes likes a bit of fashion, if you have an athletic style golf shoe with some type of trim color on it, you can absolutely 100% wear black shoes with shorts. All black with no trim is gonna look a little more odd, but you can do it. Personally, I'm not a fan of traditionally styled golf shoes with shorts, especially all black. I also have worn all white AF1's with a suit, so you might not enjoy my fashion choices as much lol. I have NOT, however, ever worn golf sandals 🤣
