3 GIR's = most satisfying round ever

Recommended Posts

Crazy round the other day 3 Greens in reg, 17 pars and 1 bogie. I am sure you will assume that I must of been hitting it close to the green all day. You would assume wrong. Got up and down 5 times from 80 -190 yards. Chipped in twice and holed out from bunker once. Obviously putted well (18 puttsūüėĬ†) but hit some really terrible shots and some incredible recoveries. I spent the hole day thinking - how did I just turn that into a par???

I had so much going on and I spent the day scrambling so much that I completely lost track of the score and I was rather shocked when I added it up.

So what I can learn from this?

Yes we try to make golf boring - and then complain when it is. ūüėŹTypically you can only hit a truly great shot after a bad shot.¬†

How exhausting was it? Sounds like a scrambling unicorn with every phase was there. Truly impressive.

It was actually more exhilarating than anything. I felt like a hero most holes.

Something to take away, when I hit a green in regulation play the hole 'perfect' I kind leave down as I did not make a birdie - save a Par and I feel great!

I would also say I was fully lost in the round. If so one asked me how many over par I was I would answered "around 5 or 6?" I had truly had no clue until I added the score up.

I love that feeling when you truly get in that one shot only minsdet. Ironically I played so bad (at times) I didn't have time to be distracted.

I think the thing to learn is that short game magic is awesome and a huge asset but runs out and if you lean on it too hard, it’ll crumble more often than not.

I always say a putter can absolve all sins.¬†ūüėȬ†this time the wedges had to chip in too.¬†

Love rounds where the scrambling is getting it done. Had 28 putts and 3  GIR last week. Score was meh, but i had fun. Fun round of 2019 was 2 GIR's and 75% on scrambling. The round most frustrating that year was  12 greens and zero birdies.
