Shafting Epoxy.... What brand could potentially be purchased in a big box hardware store, like Menards, Lowes, Etc....?

Just curious....

 

I have been buying shafting epoxy for years from Golfworks and Mitchell.  However, I was wondering what could possibly be used that might be purchased at a local hardware store, if I were in a pinch?  I know it needs to be sheer strength/impact epoxy.  I also tend to be liking the 10 min stuff, as well.

 

What alternatives are out there which might work?  What do they use in the OEM Tour Van's on the Tours?

Hardman Double/Bubble. Orange is usable after 18 hrs, Red is fast setting. Available at Walmart. Overlap shear strength is 3,000 psi.

Get the orange and use some heat by the head.  120-140F will cure the epoxy fully in 90 mins.  Plenty fast.  An old type light bulb will put out that much heat or more.

So, those appear to be good options.  

I am curious as to what is used in the Tour Vans?  I saw a picture online (on WRX) which shows some 3M stuff.  (See photo.)

 

What is this stuff?  What do the code numbers mean on the epoxy from 3M?  Is that actually shafting epoxy, or something else?

it very good, in a tour van where  the club is set into a heat drum to speed the drying  it gets the club out the door ready for use  in 15 min.

downside its expensive (it has a mil spec rating)and is a bit of overkill for DIY.

It requires a special dispenser (shown) extra cost, which brings what you see up to around approx, $40+

Not all tour vans use the same adhesive.  The DP810 is good stuff but it's weakens a good deal at high temperature so it's not ideal for a person that lives in Texas and leaves his clubs in his car all the time (pro's don't do that.)  There are various other 3M adhesives that are state of the art like DP420, DP460 and their variants.  My favorite is DP8410NS.  Anyway, I'm pretty sure you would find that the various tour van's use professional grade materials like these for the most part.

I've been using Fasco Epoxo 88 clear for years and have never had a problem with loosening. Easy to work with and sets fast in 6 minutes. Can play the club in approx 15 minutes.
