Just tuned in and on Hole 6 Doc Redman hit a wedge in that spun back and Scott Stallings then marked Redman's ball.  Is that ever permitted or are they doing something to speed up play with the rain coming in?

It is allowed as long as Stallings is the one who replaces it.

I hope live coverage is on somewhere.  Hard to watch it from the start when the leaders are thru 11 holes already.

Taped coverage will be shown at normal time on CBS.

Thanks.  I’ll just fast  forward through it tonight then.  Lost interest , had the leaders on early then poof. Gone.   I’ll go find some yard work to do.

Only good thing about the lack of coverage is that this course shows like a basic as$ muni with zero character anyway.

played a lot of Weiskopf designed courses....but this doesnt seem to be one of his better designs, but then again its a TPC course which seems to follow the cookie cutter philosophy of course design...this doesnt even seem to be one of the better courses in McKinney TX

I think the Dye Course is by far the best course in McKinney but I don't know of another course in McKinney that is better than Craig Ranch. Stonebridge Ranch CC and Heritage Ranch are really the only other two that are worth mentioning as far as McKinney proper.

I believe that rule was changed. No permission needs to be given but the rules say nothing about the person who lifted needs to be the one to replace.  Rule 14.1

Interesting. Doesn't strike me as a rule that needed changing. Not sure the rationale.

I think the Dye course is really the only one that would even come close. The other thing to note is a lot of the courses couldn't sustain having this many people on the course to spectate. We were at 25% capacity this week -- imagine what 100% capacity would be for a venue like the Dye Course....would be crammed. Also, the VAST majority of the courses in McKinney had their greens die with the great freeze of 2021. The Dye course is in EXTREMELY rough shape right now, a lot of the greens are dead. Heritage ranch seemed to be ok, played there a couple weeks ago, and it was pretty ok.

Im shocked they didnt go with something like Vaquero or Maridoe 🤷‍♂️

D2 college track

So whats not a D2 college track when you have ball in hand, no wind, and perfect conditions? Augusta? Oakmont?

Come on out and play the pro tees the way they are set up for everyone else. 7458yds, par 71, and about 5 inch deep thick bermuda rough; while also normally playing in 15-25mph into your face.

Happy for K.H Lee. Great performance  today.

Me too. Can you imagine having to wait nearly two and a half hours before playing a crucial putt.

I figured it was just a matter of time before the Korean men started winning regularly on the PGA Tour. The women have been excelling for years. Also, I'm very impressed with how humble and respectful the Asian players are. I noticed Lee bowed to K.J. before he hugged him.  Everyone should remember Matsuyama's caddie bowing to the 18th hole after he removed the flag at Augusta. I know some will disagree, but I think they're great for the game.

you're comparing that course to augusta and oakmont? you think someone gets to -25 with wet rough at oakmont? we get it it's your home course

Andrew Catalan is solidly competent in the lead announcer role.

That's probably a good word to describe his delivery. I find him rather flat in terms of tone. It would be nice to get a bit of excitement and variation in how he speaks. In that respect he is not much different from the man he replaced, Bill Macatee. But certainly he fits in on a broadcast team that is filled with less than stellar personalities.

Someone else mentioned that they loved Amanda. I do as well in terms of her interviews and featurettes on the broadcasts. I hope someone at CBS is watching her social media feed though and giving her some guidance. While she has to put up with a lot of boorish and unwelcome behavior there from neanderthal young males, she is now sometimes straying into advocacy for certain causes and other types of commentary that she really needs to keep to herself.
