This is so typical of Mike Whan's reign as the commissioner; that he communicates to his constituents directly through twitter and other social media but never spent a second reading lpga.com.

 

The new commissioner will be better by default.

Maybe I read it incorrectly but I thought this new stat tracker was to start this past weekend at the ladies PGA.

I think the LPGA is still using the same HS interns for their website management and they are having an issues bridging the info from the KPMG servers to the LPGA website.🤣

Was Smiley Mike responsible sending you into the LPGA SECURITY binder? Therefore you cannot attend LPGA events and must live vicariously through others who are able to attend events and ask them how Yealimi is playing and her what mood she's in....lol.

 

I think you should PM Argonne....he's in the binder....but somehow he's figured how to sneak into LPGA events.

The man is so BRILLIANT and STEALTH....he can even get side by side selfies with Lydia and Dumbo w/o even breaking a sweat.

Argonne is SO AWESOME.....Dumbo even gave him an autographed Srixon golf ball without even asking.

I requested, and was granted, access to the LPGA stats website. 'Not sure why one needs to be granted access, but it was a painless process.

 

Finally, after all these years, scrambling! Hyo Joo (67.46%), Danielle, Aditi, Inbee, and In Gee are the top 5. Nelly is 9th. Lydia is 10th.

 

I don't see any strokes gained data, or proximity to the hole stats.

Interesting to see Greens in Regulation from off the fairway. Brooke (69.28), In Gee, Lexi, Jessica, and Gerina are the top 5. Curious to see In Gee in there with the longer hitters. I assume it means her fairway misses aren't bad.

I thought this is one of the most informative stats for KPMG:

 

Nelly Korda was T11 on putts per GIR and 3rd on GIR; what a formula to win a tournament!

We still need to know her proximity to the hole. Was she sticking approach shots close, or bombing putts from everywhere? I'd say she was making a lot of long putts.

While I agree it is a great combination I do want the exact information @Argonne69 mentions below.

I found Karen's comments yesterday regarding putts per GIR interesting. She was talking about one of the player's putting stats, and said that they have to get it below 1.8 PPGIR to be competitive. Looking at the rankings there are currently 37 players below 1.80. Hannah is at the top with an average of 1.704. That 0.096 doesn't sound like much, but with the best ballstrikers averaging 13 to 14 greens a round, we're talking 1.3 strokes per round, or just over 5 shots for the tournament. 

 

Of course we're back to debating whether it's putting or ballstriking. Without proximity to the hole data, and shots gained putting, it could be a case of simply not knocking the ball close enough to the flag to increase the odds of making a one-putt.

 

Reminds me of the scene in Bull Durham where Kevin Costner's character, Crash Davis, explains the significance of hits over the course of a season. A few bloopers that fall for base hits can be the difference between going to the major leagues or riding buses in the minor leagues.
