Which Innisbrook course to play with Copperhead

I'm going to be staying in Indian Rocks Beach in October and was just checking to see what may be some of the better courses around the area. From looking on the interweb it looks like Seminole Lake is pretty decent. Thanks in advance.

you are unfortunately pretty limited in that area, unless you know a member at Pelican or have a Club Pro that can call you onto Bellair. Otherwise, you have to drive an hour to get to a decent course. Seminole is fine if you just want to golf, but don't expect pure conditions or facilities.

Check out Bardmoor... it was a good track.

Bardmoor is a place to play if you can't get on anywhere else. It's not a bad golf course and has some good holes but there are some holes that are terrible.

If you can get on Bellaire do that. West is better than the East.

As a member at Belleair, I don’t disagree. Before I joined, I would bounce between Bardmoor, Belleview Biltmore (I still miss it) and Dunedin. Dunedin was the best layout if the group. I need to play Dunedin again.

I love Belleair the pro shop staff is great, and I too miss Belleview Biltmore when I'm in the area.

What is the initiation at Belleair now? I'm thinking of selling my place in Naples and retiring father north.

Dunedin is great but last time i played it it was in bad shape. Did they ever finish the clubhouse?

Innisbrook is one of the best courses in Florida, and non-members can play it (just won't be cheap at that time of year). It just hosted the Valspar. Its probably a 40min drive depending on where in Indian Rocks you are staying.

Sooooo interesting change of events. We just sold our house, so as of this moment it looks like I'm going to try and play 36 at Innisbrook. So the copperhead course is the obvious must play. I'm wondering which of the other 3 would be a fun one to play as well. Thanks in advance everyone.

The Island is the hardest course on the property. Harder than Copperhead. It has some really stupid holes. The 6th could be the worst par 4 I've ever played. 4th is a par three with trees in the middle of green. 7th is the best par 5 on the property. North is a 6000 yard course. Front is hard, back is easy. South is easy but has some interesting holes. If you are looking for the two best courses on the property play Copperhead and Island. Michelson won the NCAA on the Island. If you want to have fun play Copperhead and South. If you want to play a great Donald Ross play Copperhead and go 10 minutes down 19A to Dunedin Golf Club.(I would call and see what the conditions are first) Last time I was there they weren't good but it's a nice old Ross.

How does a non member get on without staying there?

I think they open one or two times a day on the Copperhead but it's going to be expensive. If you know a member they can get you on unescorted at a decent price. I have a friend who is a member who has gotten me on many times without staying there.
