Blackstone CC vs. Quintero

Understandably, one is private and one is public, but how do these courses compare?  I play a lot of golf in the PHX/Scottsdale area and have been thinking about joining a private club.  My son and I play quite a bit at Quintero and really enjoy the conditions out there in the mountains.  Are there any other courses in the valley that are similar to Blackstone?  Just trying to get some info to see if its even worth contacting Blackstone about memberships.  Thanks!

Not even remotely close for comparison purposes!!!!  From style, amenities, course design, even conditions.

 

Blackstone facility is 1st class - top 5 probably.  The course is good, but there are some hokey holes.  But Quintero has more hokey holes and is boring.  I would play Blackstone 6/7-10 times over Quintero.  

 

If you live out that way and want to join a course - Blackstone is a pretty good choice imo.   I don't know 'inner workings', but from my experience (played and hung out there dozens of times) I would join if I lived there.  If I lived in Phx or Scottsdale - prob not.  

 

The Scottsdale private courses are 'similar' in some respects.

Do you live out on the west side?  Blackstone is a pretty long drive from Scottsdale.  I feel like if I am much further than 20 minutes from course not worth joining.  But for me I want to play enough to be able to “pencil out “ membership.

haven't played Quintero but Blackstone in Peoria was a lot of fun 10 yrs ago.   Very fair & interesting.  (one par 3 with a punchbowl green was quirky but enjoyable.)
